We stopped in here for breakfast and ordered the Pancakes with Bananas and Bacon as well as the Brioche French Toast with Bananas and Bacon. Both dishes were very good and arrived quickly. The staff was very friendly and provided us with information on Shantytown where we were heading after breakfast. You place your order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table.

Great for a coffee

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Pancake rocks. The coffee was really good and arrived quickly and the food was nice but my sons sausage roll was heated in a microwave and was a bit soggy, but the food was very tasty with a lovely sauce provided too. Very clean and clean bathroom on site which was good for us. Great place to fill up empty tummys when travelling. Has outside tables but it was too cold for us at this time of the year, but nice to have the option.

Great cakes, coffees and teas

We stopped here before our train ride and enjoyed the food and drink. The cakes were delicious and fresh, the coffee was good and the fruit infused tea was nice. Everything was served nicely and the staff was friendly.

Welcoming and clean

Clean welcoming and friendly during the busy lunch period this open airy with limited street seating but several large seating areas indoors , has lovely fresh cabinet food good range of coffee and diary alternatives with GF and vegan options . Two of us loved the salmon roulade served warm it was light as light and tasty with Spanish and salmon , the bacon and egg pie and sausage rolls were also much enjoyed . Large multiple toilets make this a lovely stopping off place for coffee and lunch and super clean

Poor Hygiene Practices On Display

I ordered a takeaway coffee. Noticed numerous signs about hygiene and Covid 19 practices and then noticed two large plates of muffins (uncovered) sitting on top of the showcase by the counter at head level of the customers, who would be able to breathe and aspirate over the muffins (and anything else left uncovered) I mentioned this to a large older woman who appeared to be in charge, and she just smiled at me and ignored me. I certainly would NOT advise anyone to eat here unless they were unconcerned about the poor hygiene I witnessed. ALL food (if it is for sale) should be covered, as this practise is disgusting...

Lovely food.

We visited this cafe twice on our stop over in Greymouth. The young staff were friendly and welcoming, the older staff not so much. The food was delicious especially the marshmallow slice,that was Devine,the cheese scones the next day were good too. A rather stark shop with not a lot of personality.

Really good coffee since 1952

The barista was friendly and prepared my coffee just as requested. Plenty of comfortable seating in a busy cafe in an interesting retail area. Robert Harris continues to provide great coffee for the people including me!

Good coffee/lunch

My husband and I had an hour to have lunch as we were on the Tranz Alpine train trip. We found this coffee shop in the Main Street and decided to have lunch here! Food was good as was the coffee and especially the cake afterwards! Good variety of food options!

Unwelcoming

I have recently moved to Greymouth and decided to meet my cousin here for the first time for morning tea. I found the staff were unfriendly, untalkative and didn't look very happy to be at work. When we were sitting at a table one particular staff member kept staring at us with disapproving looks, why I had no idea as we had all worn masks upon entry and ordering. Probably wouldn't go there again.

Cheeseless Cheese Rolls

What a disappointment. We hardly ever go out for lunch or dinner and coming here we were reminded why. The cabinet food looked promising if not a little pricey but if tasty that's ok. Then our turn to order and talk about a surly young lady serving. She does realise she is in the service industry..... no smile, please, thank you. Ordered very simply - cheese rolls. Yep cheese rolls surely can't go wrong eh - so wrong, so wrong, they were cheeseless cheese rolls. Handed them back saying no cheese - didn't realise but they got two more out of the same cabinet - sorry if no cheese in these ones highly likely isn't going to be any cheese in any of them, sure enough get given two more again cheeseless. Unfortunately by now had to go so got as takeaway and wasn't until in car heading to appointment realised still cheeseless cheese rolls. Don't know how you can omit such a fundamental ingredient. No apology when replacement given. This place needs some service customer skills training. Guess warning was in the fact place was next to empty at height of lunch hour......

Very disappointed

Absolutely disappointed with my break fast have been there a few times and food has been discusting or very disappointing but give them a chance that it will change but no it hasn't so won't be going back or recommending this place to anyone,
