Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located in the Copethorne Hotel in Greymouth, we ate at Jimmy Cook's Restuarant during our stay. The Restuarant meals are delicious, the Scotch Fillet was exceptional and perfectly cooked and I would actually rank the dinner service as the best we experienced during our 14...day New Zealand holiday. Service was friendly, quick and professional. Thank you to everyone at Jimmy Cook's!More

Gastronomic food in the restaurant of hotel Copthorne. The salmon as main course was delicious. Wine by glass may be better.

Thoroughly recommend this restaurant in the Copthorne Hotel where friends stayed. Service was a bit slow as it was busy but worth waiting for the slow cooked lamb shoulder served with loads of vegetables and cooked to perfection. It was for 2 to share, however,...would be fine for 3 people as there was a lot of food. Look forward to enjoying it next time we're in Greymouth.More

We made a reservation and when we got there they were not very busy but we did have a nice table set aside for us. A nice compact menu but they ran out of the salmon tartare which was disappointing. We both decided on the...lamb rump which was tender and came out as medium rare which was perfect. Had a side salad as well. They also did not have any cheese for the dessert portion- disappointment #2. But overall still a good main course.More

You’d not expect a functional hotel lobby in a functional town to have cooking this good. Currently located in Greymouth’s Copthorne, the ambiance belies genuinely skilful cooking. Trust me, the carrots side dish were so tasty they could have been eaten as a main. Deserves...a try in a frontier town fighting hard.More

Having eaten in a number of restaurants in New Zealand, my expectations for this one in our hotel in Greymouth weren’t all that high, however I was pleasantly surprised. I had the fish if the day and it was the best fish and chips I...have had in New Zealand. My wife had the steak and it was also fantastic. I’d highly recommend coming to Jimmy’s if you are visiting GreymouthMore

Had the 12-hr braised lamb shoulder for dinner. Scrumptious but way too much for 2 people. So impressed we came back for breakfast.

An incredible meal, generous portions and beautifully cooked. The cauliflower small plate is amazing, but the shared lamb shoulder is a meat eaters dream.

Early dinner with family, so had the restaurant to ourselves initially. Lovely service from Ebony, and delicious food from the kitchen in a nice peaceful atmosphere.

This place is a must when in Greymouth. We had an excellent dining experience when we dined here as a couple recently. Our wonderful service staff made sure we were well looked after and were very professional. We shared the 22 hour braised Lamb Shoulder...for mains which I highly recommend - melt in your mouth devine with the perfect jus. We were told it has become their signature dish and I can understand why. It is absolutely a must try! We had the White Chocolate Pistachio Entremet for dessert which was the picture of perfection on a plate and was so delicious. There is no doubts at all we will be back. I also have to mention they have Emerson’s Pilsner on tap too which made this Dunedin girl happy to see :-) Thanks for a great dining experience, we cannot wait to try other menu items.More
