Enjoyed whitebait fritters here a week ago while waiting for the TranzApline train. Speights is just across the road from the railway station and within an easy walk of the Kingsgate hotel. We had purchased a package through Wild Adventure Tours and this included a...More

They mean it when they say "generous to a fault" because our meals were large and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere near the fire place and wonderful service adds to the charm of this restaurant. Definitely would go again.

Perfect spot for an evening meal - good selection of food from the menu and of course lots to drink - warm and cosy on a cold winters night - very helpful staff - quick and efficient service.

This is a restaurant and bar. There are a lot of Speight's beer. Food is great. Staff is polite and kind. Price is reasonable.

Enjoyed $6 beer and wines during happy house 5-6pm. Then stayed for dinner, delicious steak at a very reasonable price. The place gets very busy and you can't book so get in early or later.

This was our first stop when we got off the train. Very handy location. Had a few games of pool and darts. The wedges we would highly recommend. Returned the next day for lunch and it was divine
