Made a quick stop here while waiting for a family member to join me on my road trip. Had a lovely chat to the owners and enjoyed delicious stroopwafel and coffee while watching the crashing waves. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are...in the area.More

A cold bleak day out was rewarded with a lovely coffee and lovely people serving it. A real treat. Loved the boat and the resilience of these vendors on a cold day.

I love where The Lifeboat sells their coffee and waffles, the tiphead is an awesome spot to watch the waves and the ocean, it's simply a majestic spot. Then you add in some yummy Dutch Stroopwafels and the friendly owners and your morning just can't...get better than that! If you have the time, they might just invite you inside to have a good yarn with them! Monique and Richard are really down to earth people. Oh, did I mention the waffles are great? I couldn't resist taking some home with me after eating the ones there! It's a must see in Greymouth!More

Thank you Richard and Monique so much, you guys are the best. You made a special heart waffle for my daughter's 12th birthday and delivered to our hotel.

Thank you! We were so happy we could be a part of her birthday with delivering stroopwafels. Hope you had a great time on the West Coast!

Richard and Monique work in this amazing old lifeboat from 1908 that's transformed into this really cool little coffee stand. But wait, there's more. They freshly make stroopwafels on site and the air smells amazing. They're lovely and up for a chat and embody everything...that is good about small businesses. If you end up in Greymouth do yourself a favour and have a stroop here.More

We as Dutch people were happy that we found original stroopwafels, never buy the ones in the store no more. These are amazing!!! Richard and Monique are very open and friendly, we were planning to get a coffee and drive up north. We ended in...the boat having stroopwafels and share awesome stories. I would really recommend the lifeboat. It's the detour more then worth when you take a bite of those sweet stroopwafels. Thanks guys! P.s. The hot chocolade is also recommended!!!More

Discovered The Lifeboat NZ by accident, after finishing the West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail, we decided to ride down to the end of the breakwater. Richard and Monique are the owners and they are so lovely and truly make the best hot chocolate in the...world, with real NZ top quality chocolate and milk. Just wonderful to refresh with this delicious beverage after a long cycle ride, watch the dolphins in the Tasman. The waffles are great as well. Forget the famous Monteith Brewery go to The Lifeboat NZ instead!More

My brother had been raving about this place and now we are raving. We came prepared with cash as because of the remoteness of the location there is no eftpost. The Stroop waffles were delicious, freshly made. They also make coffee and hot chocolate but...I wanted to spend all my money on the biscuits. I took some home for my children. My father enjoyed watching the boat come into the harbour as he waited for his hot chocolate to be made. The quaint LifeBoat protected us from the wind as we waited.More

Not only is the place beautiful, the coffee and waffles faultless, Richard is an absolute diamond of a man. We had a great chat about our kids and our pride in them, I was even supplied with careers advice for over 60 gardeners with dodgy...knees🤣🤣. Thanks man, you made our day.More
