Pretty crap service!!! Called 10x times to place an order and no one answered the phone. Drove there to place an order at 7:30pm because the wife wanted dinner to be told kitchens closed. For 1 hour atleast they could’ve cooked 1 meal.
Went here for dinner with my mum and it was so good! We both got pho soups. I got the pork one and it was flavoured beautifully. The service was also top notch!
This was a lunch time stop on a sunday while shopping in Whangarei. We have eaten here some time ago and it was really really good....and once gain a superb lunch. We had the Spoicy beef Pho ( soup ) ?....amazing flavout=rs as well as...the Prawn Summer rolls and Salmon summer rolls. Its a little on the prcey side but we will be backMore
14/04/2022 Waiting nearly 40 - 50 minutes for a simple meal for 3 persons and there was not too many other customers in at that particular time. Called for the waiter to ask where our meals are. And also asked if we could at least...get complimentary drinks for our 50 minute wait. Too which the waiter went away , 5 - 10 minutes later returning with food. I asked if we get complimentary drinks, and he said that if you have any complains to talk to the duty manager/owner. There was 2 x customers that arrived well after us and they got their food before us. As far as I am concerned, our time at Mean's Vietnamese Cafe has poor customer service sadly. And being paying customers will be our last time there.More
Authentic flavours. Mussel soup is a must try. Generous and delicious servings Busy environment. Has a few desert selection
Delicious food at Means, and as it was a warm humid night and we sat close to the street, it was almost like being in Asia. Delicious food, decent drinks list - including two Vietnamese beers - and good service. Also very clean. Our vaccine...passes were dutifully verified, which we appreciated. Highly recommend.More
Food was delicious but when I pointed out that my vermicelli dish was missing the crispy spring rolls it is advertised with, I was simply told that they have not had these for a month. No substitute was offered and after lengthy discussion my meal...was taken back and refunded. An outcome that was probably not satisfactory to either party, and a little bizzare.More
Always great meals, really nice healthy food. Should be sitting way higher on the list! Definitely worth the visit
I had a craving for a good banh mi since I not had one since my journey to Viet Nam not so many years ago. Mean's Vietnamese was suggested by a friend so while passing through Whangarei stopped for lunch. The service was very good...- fast, efficient, and friendly. The menu is extensive. I ordered a prawn salad to begin. The fresh vegies were expertly cut however the dressing was too salty. The banh mi followed. For me a banh mi is all about the balance of the vegies with the sauce and the crispness of the bread. The bread was fresh and crisp. Once again the vegies were fresh however I had hoped it would have had a little more variety. The sauce was pedestrian and again too salty. Both portions served were on the small size.More
A very extensive menu - from ie appetizers, to Pho, to main meals. Excellent beef skewers,PHO, and they make a great Banh Me sandwich which I took away for supper that night. I wish they were in my hometown.I'd be a weekly regular for sure.
First visit - impressed all round. Plenty of authentic flavours, which is rare up north, so given it 5 stars for the excellent food for its modest price.
Fresh, flavorsome food. Would happily eat here again. Spring rolls are great. As is the chsrgrilled chicken and pork.
First time visit and ordered spring rolls and combination meat fried rice. The rice dish was full of flavour and well cooked meat. The spring rolls were lovely and fresh, however they were made better when we took some of hhe meat from rice dish...and put it in rolls.More
Really impressed with everything at this restaurant. The food was delicious, lots of flavour and fresh ingredients. It was very busy but the food was extremely quick to be served and was at a very affordable price.
