Always reliable Thai Restaurant!

This restaurant has become a favourite of ours and we dine here whenever we visit Whangarei. The food has always been tasty, with the portion size generous and the prices reasonable. The service is usually good and the wait staff friendly. The decor creates a pleasant ambiance. We ordered our stir fries with pork this time and the meat was very tender and lean. Delicious! There was ample free parking in the street near the restaurant.

A very tasty surprise

As out of towners who grew up in Whangarei this was a great surprise when family took us there for a mid-week meal. 4 adults who each chose a different dish and a different drink and all were impressed. The locals knew what to order without even looking at the menu! There is an impressive range of options on the menu from the usual Thai dishes to one including tamarind sauce. This was a major hit. Beautifully presented with subtle sweet/sour overtones. The local family have been going there for years and I would highly recommend it to visitors and locals. The staff were discrete and helpful and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Popular with locals for a good reason

We were walking in CBD on Sunday night and everything seemed quiet, except this place, which was buzzing. Locals came in and out with takeaways, so we decided to check it out. They have kindly let us in even though they were really busy. It was the best curries that we have had in NZ! Our vegetarian friend lso had plebty of choice and enjoyed their meal.The cervice was also great. We lived it so much we forgot to take photos of the food. Attached is the photo of the dessert, but we wouldn't call a dessert a highlight of our meal-it seemed to lack flavour, but I think it's how Thai desserts are in general. Thank for accommodating us and for being a highlight of our visit to Whangarei!

Very nice but...

Family dinner, food was nice. Fish cakes were rubbery and so hot you could tell they had been microwaved. Mains were nice. Not sure what it was but just something was missing, atmosphere was lacking authenticity or something. Service was quick and polite.

Fave Thai Restaurant

I never write reviews but this place is amazing! Have loved this place for years. Very consistent with taste and quality. Never experienced a long wait time and the temperature and ambience is always just right. Every time I eat Thai food anywhere else it just does not compare!

Great Quality

The best Pad Thai I have ever eaten, food is usually good but this was the first time the food blew me away, it’s not the cheapest mains at a Thai restaurant you will find but the quality is too notch.

Been here many times... so that is a recommendation in itself. Plenty of choice on the menu. You can dine in or take away... or if your dine in is too much you can take the rest away in a provided container

Average food!!! and OK SERVICE

Stopped by for lunch on our way to Auckland and was told this was the BEST place for That food....seriously.....far from it!!!! Please check out the other restaurants in the vicinity. Overall...4/10

A lunch for us with a friend

Three of us met for lunch which is becoming a regular thing with each choosing a different place to dine at. Pat had Pad King - stir fried pork with ginger, brown sauce, celery & black fungus. Sue had Pad Pug - stir fried chicken, with fresh vegetables and Thai sauce (no mushrooms requested). I had Pad Pug Satay - stir fried pork with vegetables with satay sauce and mushrooms. Good sized serves, nice flavours but very different texture to what we normally get at another Thai restaurant.

Great thai restaurant

We booked for a saturday night and im glad we did. There was only 2 spare tables when we arrived. Despite being busy the service was good and the Food arrived pretty quick. Tasty dishes. Good size. Definately going back.

We enjoyed a pleasant meal here near to the end of our NZ tour - the service and food were quite good and priced fairly; best of all it allowed BYO for a corkage charge.

Best Thai ever

Love this restaurant. We go regularly and always get friendly efficient service. The good is fantastic. I love satay or cashew nut stir fry. My husband loves the peppercorn stir fry and our teenage daughters 1 has a curry and the other the rice noodles. We are always all happy and satisfied. Great prices too!

Thai takeaways with a difference

Had a birthday treat with neighbours with takeaways by the beach from Pimarn Thai. Such lovely tastes and just so much better than any tasted before. Couldn't move afterwards as ate far too much. The portions of the takeaways were generous, and don't let the word "takeaway" take anything away from the standard of these meals.
