Popped in for a bit of lunch & had probably the best, tastiest frittata I’ve ever had, served very hot with a tomato sauce, the place is fairly basic but immaculately clean & tidy, the service is good & quick, will defiantly return.

Best coffee in Whangārei. I go here most Saturday mornings with the family for coffee and breakfast.
Great coffee but the staff can be a bit rude. Got literal stink eye from barista? I’m not sure what was wrong with my money, but never going here again.
I was thrilled to be introduced to Sabios. The plant based options were fantastic! The staff were friendly and attentive, the place was clean, and although very busy, staff managed calmly, and efficiently. Definitely my new 'go to' breakfast cafe when visiting Whangarei.
We started coming to Sabio as soon as we found it in January after moving to Whangarei. So we've come at least fortnightly. Not so great day today. I accidently knocked my coffee and it splashed over the table. On immediately going to the counter...and asking for a cloth the young woman came over and started wiping down the table....you would think great she's onto it BUT no, loads of mumbling and grumbling and "im too busy for this." Then the scone arrived which we specifically asked NOT to be heated, it came warm and when we mentioned that, we were told "that we have to accept their standard and that's how it comes!!" Too bad, how sad...not going back!!More
Table for two ~ only one got food. And waited 35 min although place was not busy. The manager informed me “ this is the fist I hear of it, mistakes happen” when I enquired. I had to ask for a refund as not offered....At the 45 min mark, finally left. Very disappointed at service.More
Great ambience, authentic delicious food and superb coffee. Staff are welcoming, food arrived quickly and you get the feeling they like being there and creating food from scratch
Sabio has quickly become our preferred local coffee destination. Conveniently on the Hatea Loop route, but tucked away from the main tourist cafes. Also on offer are quality bread & baking. No doubt it will continue to gain in popularity...
Called in to Sabio for lunch last week and what a find! This unassuming cafe was really good with great selection of food. We had salads which were excellent and tasty, They also do their own sourdough bread which we took home and found to...be delicious! Coffee and tea was superb!More
Thanks for coming in - glad you enjoyed your visit:-)
Not only is the food and coffee great here, but also the customer service! Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Needed to change my baby grandson and they set up a changing station in the back room for us! Can’t think of any other cafe...or restaurant that would do that! Way beyond the call of duty. So helpful, will definitely be back! Thanks for your help yesterday, it was greatly appreciated.More
You are most welcome. Thanks for coming in.
Decided to try Sabio despite only having a couple of reviews. Everyone really pleased (10 out of 10) with their coffee and iced coffee
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed your visit.
Fabulous staff, food and coffee. Amazing find as not a local. Clearly popular. Would live to go back for more delicious food
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed your visit:-)
This was rather unexpected and a totally accidental find, out on an early morning walk! It is located in a light industrial and service area but is really quirky with great coffee and food in a very creative space, comforting space with outdoor seating options...as well. Many there were clearly regulars. It's definitely a place to be explored further and the bous is they door their own coffee!More
Thanks:-)
