AWARD-WINNING COMPLETELY GLUTEN FREE & VEGAN EATERY | We are an eatery and organic store in the Civic Arcade, Whangarei. Come in for a nourishing plant-based meal with friends and family, or we have quick take out options and online ordering + delivery and click&collect too. We have a large variety of raw foods, including colourful salads & raw sandwiches + raw cakes & slices. We also offer handmade pies, hearty meals, soup, cookies, sweet and savoury muffins. We do smoothies and authentic superfood lattes along with organic fairtrade coffee & tea and an extensive range of organic cold drinks, including kombucha, coconut water, organic fizz and juices. We can make whole raw cake orders for special occasions and also specialise in healthy catering too. We have shelves lining our store filled with organic pantry dry goods, such as nuts, seeds and healthy grocery items, zero waste products, body care products, supplements, chocolate, tea and treats. We all enjoyed our delivery of cinnamon rolls and energy loaves. The cinnamon rolls are perfection and didn't last long! I enjoy the energy loaf for breakfast and it keeps me full until lunch.
We love the delicious, nutritious, plant-based food that power plant creates and always feel welcome with such kind service.

I live in Christchurch but have family who live in Whangarei. I wanted to arrange delivery of some healthy, tasty treats for them as they needed a 'pick me up'. Angela and the staff from Power Plant went above and beyond to arrange special delivery of these treats on the same day and very soon after I spoke to them by phone. The banoffee pie and the jelly tip cheesecake were huge hits with my family. Yum...they said. Thank you Power Plant.

We've eaten in Power Plant and tried the delivery service and would highly recommend both. Delicious food and drinks (Java bowl, raw sandwich and hot chocs a favourite!), healthy plant-based choices which make you feel great after.
The delivery service was easy and efficient and the gift of an afgan cookie was really appreciated and it didn't last long!
Can't wait to order again 😊

Power plant is our favourite place to eat in Whangarei and the delivery service is great too. Perfect for a healthy treat or a packed lunch for a road trip!
We've tried lots on the menu a love it all.
We're a bit addicted to the raw sandwiches!

I'm from out of town and I ordered Plant Power's Chocolate Ganache Mud Cake for a family, birthday celebration. It was very easy to order, the staff were helpful and the cake was ready to go when I arrived to collect it. The hand-written message on the cake was nicely done and the real flowers, added for decoration, gave the cake a nice festive touch. On top of that it tasted good! Thanks Angela and Team for a great cake. The smells coming out of the kitchen when I walked in were so good I wish I lived closer so that could be a regular patron.

Power Plant is one of those rare places that serves absolutely delicious food that also happens to be very healthy. All dishes are vegan and gluten free and choosing what to purchase is difficult because it’s all so tasty. Dishes include pies, (for example savoury lentil, and jackfruit), raw sandwiches, nachos, salads and soup and toast (made from their own G F bread). The sweet dishes are as unique and delicious as the savoury dishes.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and committed to providing the best possible service for their customers.
As well Power Plant is located in the city centre (not far from the library) and thus is easy to get to.
It’s not often food like this can be found in a small city. This is definitely a cafe to visit.

My husband and I stopped in on a road trip for a few takeaway drinks and a quick snack. The service was very friendly and warm. The gluten free vegan frittata was so delish I’m sad I had to share it with my other half! Will definitely be back for a sit down meal next time we drive through! Beautiful cafe ❤️

For those after both organic ingredients and wholefoods in every permutation and category as well as excellent food to eat there or take away, this really is the place. The setting, atmosphere, quality, food, products and service are all excellent and really, cannot be faulted. There is everything to cater for any taste with vegan specialties, dairy free, gluten free and a fully, plant-based menu. Seek it out when in Whangārei.

Hello Dr Benjamin, Thank-you for your glowing 5-Star review of Power Plant! You are obviously a very astute assessor of food premises based on the breadth of your review categories (setting, atmosphere, quality, food, products, service) and I'm so happy that you rated us as faultless. We are trying to do something different here at Power Plant by not using deep fryers, microwaves or cling wrap. We make everything from scratch so that we truly know the ingredients and can assure the quality at every step. It has to be more than just"YUM", it has to be nourishing and exhibit some craft. I love treating myself when I travel up to see my mum in Whangarei. During the lockdown I had an order sent out to my mum. It all looked delicious and mum was chuffed.

I was in Whangarei for only a few hours and needed something healthy... I was so happy to stumble upon this gem! The employees were lovely and their specials change daily. Everything looked & smelled delicious - I chose a sandwich and was not at all disappointed!
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nourishing delicious meal.
