Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I enjoyed the majority of it but the meat all bunched up would have been a lot better if it was spread more thoroughly.

Basically Subway model but replace the baked bread with a Pita. Went today at 2:30 - 3 pitas, 1 small coke = $43 NZD. If 3 persons and 3 drinks it would be $55 as they not only have expensive $14 pitas but also $5...cokes - expected at a nice place but this is a strip mall...... 2 staff working. Roles should be - cashier, maker of pita, griller and toast/package - this is 4 people - but 2 persons (likely at minimum wage) were working their butts off to deliver to a line of customers - management is apparently rolling in cash by gouging customers and cheating hardworking teenager employees. Food is slow (expected with only 2 staff.). We used to like this place but with fast food the priorities are speed, cost and quality and this unit delivers 1/2 out of 3 of these - I am sick of being ripped off. Last visit. Sorry guys. Do better. Or hopefully a conglomerate who understands value will put you out of business. RIP. scottMore

I have always enjoyed a pita pocket at Pita Pit, but it's a bit annoying when they are overly generous with the lettuce to fill out the pita pocket. They are a bit skimpy with the cheese, you have to ask them to put in...a bit more. Last time I was there, I asked for avocado and to they said they would have to charge extra for it! Before, it was one of the choices you can have. I was not impressed. They still make a very tasty pita pocket.More

I love the Pita Pit. It is a step up from Subway to me and I also like Subway. The price is a bit more than Subway for what I order. You can really customize a sandwich here.

My partner and I regularly eat at Pita Pit in Auckland and find the level or service at multiple locations has dropped over the years. The service we received at the Whangarei store was excellent. The store offers avocado spread which a lot of locations...have not offered for years. They also asked if we wanted capsicum, onion or mushrooms cooked on the grill with our meat. I have never encountered this before but it is a brilliant idea! They were careful to ask my partner if it was OK to cook the falafel on the grill where meat is cooked, important for vegetarians and vegans. The store was also very busy so it is goof to see they can maintain this level of service while being busy. Keep up the good work!More

Convenient opening hours - 9 to 9 - Mon to Sat and 9 to 8 on Sun. Located in Okara Park shopping area. Parking is within the Okara park. Very Vegan friendly. Vegetarians and Vegans can request food to be heated in Microwave rather than...the usual hot plate where meat is heated. Staff wear a new pair of gloves if you tell them you are vegetarian / vegan. Limited seating area. Recommend their Pita and/or Salad. You can choose the salad vegetables from a good range on offer.More
