Coffee was good! I had poached eggs with bacon and hash brown, the hash brown was burnt on one side , the bread used for toast was the thin sandwich bread that was not toasted and not enjoyable at all eggs were cooked well, No would not go back.

The first café I went to at 6.30am did not serve a cooked meal so drove further up town to find Red Eye Café sandwich board out on the footpath and the lights on. Arriving at the café there were numerous customers inside and upon entering was quick to notice they were all locals who conversed well together and obvious... More

Every time I get a coffee from this cafe, I take one sip and feel happiness. Flavour is rich and has depth. Coffee beans are very fresh and the machine is obviously well maintained. Thanks for making my day

It was a small flat white and I was tasting it for 20kms drive. And time and distance did not make it any better than average. Maybe it was a small single shot but the milk flavour killed the coffee flavour and smell. Which is a bit unusual for NZ coffee as most places serve a double shot. Next time... More

Whenever I visit Wanganui, I always relish picking up a flat white from this great little cafe. The cafe staff are bright and friendly. There is a small range of cabinet food including muffins, slices, savouries in addition to a menu for cooked dishes. However, I score an excellence award for the consistently high standard of the coffee. It is... More

Have had breakfast here about 4 times, food and service is satisfactory. Only complaint is having asked if there was a dominion to read and been told it hadn't arrived yet it was suddenly available when a regular patron arrived. Benefit of doubt first and second time but by the third this happened I had enough of being lied to.

Brilliant musical retro décor with vinyl record covers adorning the walls and a focus on the 80s! Great coffee, delicious slices and will modify the menu a bit for difficult customers (like me!). They also have free wifi, just ask for the password when you order.

Had a quick stop over at the Red Eye as I was waiting for an appointment across the road. I ordered a coffee and bacon sandwich to kick start the day. The coffee was really good and the bacon sammie was one of the best. The café itself was clean with a mixture of modern and old furniture. Service was... More
