Fast service which is great when you have kids

We love going here for a quick, reasonably priced meal that comes out of the kitchen quickly. My young grandchildren cope here as there are things they are willing to eat (eg the yummy roti) and they don't have to wait for an hour for the adults to get and eat their meal. We have never had a bad meal here. It really suits us as a family in a hurry.

Review is for Thai House Express address we had was 194 Victoria St, but same phone number. First night in Whanganui and staying in the city. Needed some dinner and some veges, so this place seemed to fit the bill. The food is order and pay at the counter from about 50+ options, they have non alcoholic and wine options and deliver to your table. Our food turned up within 5 mins, so very quick! Food was hot and fresh and good flavour. We had mushroom and veges #11 (which also had chicken) and stir fry veges #47. That and a half bottle of Pinot Gris was a reasonable $43

Quick Cheap Eats

We ate here for dinner and were impressed by how fast the food came out. We had barely sat down and it was being brought to the table. It was a reasonably busy night and all the tables seemed to get their food quickly. It was tasty, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The only issue was that the portions were quite small for us and we ended up ordering another meal to takeaway with us so not so cheap in the end.

Expensive, Poor Quality/Quantity Takeaways!!!!

I ordered 8 dishes for a family birthday celebration. 2x Chicken and Cashew nuts, 2x Black Bean Beef, 2x Vegetable Fried Rice and 2x Sweet and Sour Beef. We were feeding 9 adults and 5 children under 5. Thank goodness I ordered chips as well from another business!!!!!! The takeaway dishes were very small and were not full. The main vegetable was onion. The meat was not separated properly and lifted out in clumps! No-one was impressed by the food and No-one was satisfied. I paid $114 for this food and feel ripped off by it!!! I personally called in to speak to the Manager about it today. She blankly stared at me. I didn’t get as much as an apology or any offer of a part-refund! I do NOT recommend Thai Express to anyone now.

We love their food

We are used to living in a large city with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Moving back to Wanganui meant we had to hope we could find the great food we were used to being able to get. We found it here! Great good, great choice, authentic Thai food.

No Thai flavours - no Thai quality

Thai Food is one of our Favourites! However.......here...... Positive * the help at the counter Negative * Paying EXTRA for take away is a new one..........not being waited on, not occupying a table or using anything > they charge MORE ?!?! * Now if the food would be great ......that might be a little less negative......but their chef definitely cannot be Thai......and if they are then they're hiding it well * Most dishes are $ 19.95 and up......the chicken in the satay is dry (KFC style) chicken with a little pottle of satay sauce * The beef pad thai is noodles, noodles, noodles.......trying to find the beef * .......on it goes. * Same for the other people in our group Avoid this place if you're a fan of Thai food!

Gross. Would not recommend at all

I’ve lived in Thailand and I’ve tried a lot of Penang curries here in nz but this has definitely got to be the worst I’ve had. Chewy chicken, bland flavour. Could not finish it. I spoke to a local and they said we should of avoided the place.

What a disappointment stir fried mushrooms and vegies, no flavour, like eating boiled veg with rice. Roti very oily and really crunchy on edges. Chicken and cashew, small potion with large amount of rice.

Terrible food portions now and so dry !

Usually go here all the time but since a few weeks/ months ago they have changed so much of their food to way smaller portions and it is so dry and old tasting. The duck for example was so thin and dry practically dark brown you couldn’t even taste it definitely not worth the price you could go to the supermarket and get it cheaper. Much much cheaper and in better edible conditioning.

Have ordered from here many times but tonight was weird and not very nice. We didnt order a seafood choice for one of the dishes but that is what we got and it was gross! The fried chicken and bread we got was fine! Will not be rushing back!

Highly disappointed / food poisoning

I have tryed to call multiple times my partner has been sick as a dog and has ended up in hospital from food poisoning from your chicken fried rice, even when he asked you to double cook the chicken so obviously it’s your rice & hygiene. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the stories and will never be back clean your act up
