A group of us came here for lunch today. In the past food and service has been good but not today. In spite of not being overly full the service to our table was mind numbingly slow. So slow in fact that after almost half an hour of waiting two of our group had to leave because they had to return to work. The food was a bit like a curate's egg, good in parts and even then the experience wasn't universal. My ham, cheese and onion toasted sandwich was very disappointing. Part of the cheese was badly caramelised from the toasted sandwich maker and badly squashed for good measure. Also, I had expressly asked at the counter for my cup of tea to be served with my toasted sandwich but the tea turned up a good 5-6 minutes before the toasted sandwich (yes I had my timer on). Other comments around the table included a negative assessment of the Thai beef and noodle salad which didn't taste like anything remotely Thai and one of our friends said that his burger bap was on the stale side. So, from a culinary point of view, not a great experience. That's a bit of a shame as this place has a nice ambience but clearly improvements are in order because I know they can do better.

Situated on a corner and Wanganui Collegiate just up the street , this is a great location for a cafe in a renovated cottage.
There is outdoor seating which is hidden from the street.
Local art/ craftwork fills the walls which is all for sale.
A selection of cabinet food and menu food to order.
Their gourmet club sandwiches are delicious and filling.
Mojo coffee is served but I personally prefer the size down from their smaller cup , due to this my triple shot was still quite weak.I should have requested it to be 3/4 filled.My mistake.
The staff were very friendly and efficient.
Just follow the aromas of coffee and bacon , you can’t miss it.

Great place to stop for coffee and cake or meals. We stopped for the former and they were able to accommodate us sitting outside undercover with my small dog 👍
Coffee was excellent and the ginger crunch was the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended

Went with two friends for lunch, ordered two English breakfast teas and 1 flat white . Teas arrived were Earle grey and in a disgustingly dirty teapot with no knob on top which we sent back after finally receiving English breakfast. Coffee was forgotten. We asked 10 minutes after teas came where was coffee. No apologies but finally got it . Bread rolls had cheese, mushroom and a very scant piece of bacon in were a disappointment . Certainly won’t be back.

Went for cabinet food lunch. Told nothing savory without onion so ordered a sweet muffin which the young lady offered to heat. I declined the offer, assuming the muffins were fresh. My muffin was very cold & very dry....certainly not made today & doubt it was made yesterday! I pointed out to a young lady clearing tables. She said she'd tell someone. Later I pointed out to another worker who tried to tell me the muffins were fresh, just cold because they were in the cabinet. Very strange because my husband's club sandwich from the same cabinet was not really cold or dry! It was extremely fresh...hence my 3 rating. We left without any further input from staff. Will not return.

Went for breakfast here, we were recommended by the lovely lady at our hotel. Unfortunately we do not eat a lot for breakfast as they had full cooked breakfasts and egg Benedict’s which I love. They did a lot of baked counter goods which looked great but we were drawn to the bacon butties, done on a soft brown malt style bread, absolutely wonderful. The whole place was pretty busy midweek at 9am, had a nice feel to it, staff were friendly and cosy indoor and outdoor areas to sit in. Would definitely recommend for breakfast and I would imagine they do a great lunch.

Pleasant cafe on Victoria Ave/Liverpool Street that caters for inside and outside seating. Quick service, easy parking off street as street was busy and full, also the para park was fantastic. Very friendly staff, we got a nice table in the sun - inside! Seems a pretty popular place with a mixed clientele.
Not too expensive and a reasonable menu and a good cabinet selection. Worth the effort. For a late lunch at 1:30-2pm still plenty of options :) Yay:)

We had a fabulous lunch here recently. The mushroom on toast option was wonderful, for instance while my wife and I could also share an aromatic pot of tea. There was wonderful gelato there which made for an ideal dessert as well. I was impressed with the staff who were very amiable and who provided excellent service. The dining area was spacious with a pretty garden area outside and a nice raised area inside!

Every time we come here, it is a pleasure. The staff are always very friendly and remember your name, the menu is delightful, and the food is just excellent. Coffee is very very good, and if you’re lucky enough to get one of their toasted sandwiches, these are definitely the best in Mangonui.

Our experience here was probably a bit lower than 'very good' but better than 'average'! We visited for coffee and a light lunch. The coffees were fine but the cabinet food didn't quite deliver on the promise. Having said that, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her cheese and ham toastie! Clearly locals enjoy the cafe as it was very busy during our visit.

This was one of our favourite cafe's when we lived in Wanganui. It us still one of favourites when we visit. Has a great menu and you can always find something yummy in cabinet if you are in a hurry. Staff are friendly and helpful.

A local recommended we call in here for lunch. First impressions were average however the staff were absolutely fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Easy to cater for a Vegan option. The service was great and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious.

Such lovely people work here, always friendly and pleasant.
The coffee is especially good, consistent and the right temperature. The food is always fresh and well presented.
