Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food was ok. Just standard fish n chips but quite poor customer service on this day. A smile and some eye contact would be all that is required to improve the standard. Beautiful setting though so was happy to have found the spot.

Great coffee and fish and chips from the attached takeaway outlet. Good selection of food in the cabinet. Can have a wine or beer with takeaways.

Visit Thames, Wharf Cafe had quite an upmarket feel – ordered fish n chips and cocktails. Cocktails were sublime; generous fish. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.) Great service.

Popped into the wharf for lunch, lady serving walked off without a word half way through us ordering to change something on the menu, and when I stopped ordering since she didn’t appear to be paying any attention she came across pretty snappy, like I...was wasting her time. We were given a buzzer that would go off when our food was ready. We thanked the lady and went to wait. When the buzzer went and I returned to collect the food the same woman was there. I said thankyou probably 4 times. The staff member however didn’t say a single word. Just slammed the buzzer on the counter, shoved the food by it and walked off. $41 approx on food at this establishment and she couldn’t even muster enough basic decency for a “thanks”. If this woman is incapable of simple people skills maybe she’s a bad choice to have at the service counter. The location is great, the food was ok, but I sure as hell won’t give them another cent of my money. Thames has far too many other great food places to have rude cows working the counter. Her attitude was rank. Maybe the cafe side is a better experience, but 10/10 would not recommend the takeaway side.More

The Associated Fresh Fruit Ice Cream Caravan owned by this business along with Fish and Chip shop which all share Seating space were serving 4 unmasked Customers who were loudly proclaimly they were unvaccinated to all around When I asked the Young man why he...told me he was busy . There was clear signage stating that to be served and seated you needed to be masked and show a Vaccine Pass. Frankly to someone who has just completed 10 days Isolation after being a close contact to Positive Covid 19 cases, I find this business completely irresponsible.More

I rated my meal I had very good, as the gurnard was melt in the mouth divine! And chips were nice and crunchy..but the paua fritter was bad! I couldn’t even eat it, tasted like glue..just flour and water with a bit of minced up...paua washed through it…very disappointing as it wasn’t cheap! Like $8.50? Won’t be getting that again, just stick to the fish next time..More

We popped in for a beer after a long drive and were pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the outdoor setting by the water was lovely. We will return at the next chance.

Stopped here for lunch - really easy spot to miss but well worth seeking it out near the water... Absolute 10:10 food and service. We had the fish burgers, chips and donuts. Best fish burger we have ever eaten - fresh and loaded full -...You will not be disappointed. Places like this are hard to come by - we will definitely be backMore

What a spot to stop at. Definitely worth popping in to have a drink and soak up the view if you have time. Staff are friendly and food is served reasonably quickly and tasty too. Just keep in mind the seafood chowder should be called...a mussel chowder, as there was no other seafood or fish to be found in it. Still delicious and a good portion size for the price.More
