Visited here for breakfast while travelling up the North Island. Husband and I had the build a breakfast, kids had French toast. Food was beautifully cooked and presented and was delicious. Excellent value for money. Staff were happy to serve the adult serve of French toast as two smaller portions for the kids. Delicious smoothies and competent coffee and hot chocolate made it a worthwhile experience.

I had quite possibly the best porridge ever at Cafe Zest this week. Perfect sized portion of creamy porridge with spiced fruits and nuts. Just delicious. The coffee was great too. Friendly staff

Just across from the hospital, this cafe is delightful with outdoor seating and ample indoor space. The food is consistently tasty, the coffee is great. It can get busy - I just ask how long things might take to see if my break is long enough. All good!

Opposite hospital, makes lovely coffee. Had quite a wait with a toddler, which wasnt ideal. Food was nice and french toast was really good, on the expensive side. Gets quite loud with hospital staff having like a meeting and all talking over each other - couldn't hear yourself think. Can get coffee to take away which was handy.

Great service and unfaultable food - lots of options. Very popular with hospital staff. Lovely tea selection; salads delicious and very clean, well kept cafe. Pleasure to visit.

Met up with family for breakfast here on a weekday morning. The cafe is attached to a motel complex opposite the hospital in Palmerston North. It is surprisingly spacious inside - on the morning we visited, there were several groups of people who appeared to be having work meetings over coffee, a good place for it as it is great for conversation, peaceful and relaxed. We sat by the windows along the front - good natural light and an outlook to the street. There was a simple breakfast menu offering half a dozen different options as well as a selection of cabinet items. We ordered the porridge and the granola/muesli, both of which were very tasty and just a little bit different, not bland or predictable. The coffee was great (Acme cups so often go with great coffee) and we appreciated finding the daily newspaper to read over breakfast. Our meals came out in good time and the service was efficient and helpful. Water bottles are available from a small glass fridge; great to have properly chilled water. We were able to park in the motel carparks right outside, and there are good toilets - ideal for a stop off while travelling or making a hospital visit. Recommended.

I have just returned home from lunch at Cafe Zest. Service was very good - the food was excellent. I chose a Buddha salad. It was so tasty. They even gave me a different sauce as ginger was not to my taste. I will definitely come back. It was no problem getting a park. Nothing went wrong, and I can't think of anything that needs improving

What a great find. A stylish Cafe with exceptional food and many healthy options. We really enjoyed our meals here and service was great. Coffee was perfect. This Cafe was a breath of fresh air.

Cafe Zest is a hidden gem, located opposite the Palmerston North Hospital and connected to the Carramar Motor Inn. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, the service is outstanding, the meals are amazing, every bite is totally worth it. Honestly the best french toast I have ever had and the short rib with couscous was unbelievably good. I cannot wait to visit Palmerston North again just to eat here. Amazing in every way, the dining area is very clean, there is a cosy place to sit on couches with a friend and enjoy a glass of wine. The staff are not pushy and are happy for you just to relax. Honestly has to be my favorite cafe in all of NZ right now.

Popped in for breakfast while a relative was in hospital. Lovely atmosphere, fabulous waitstaff and delicious food. Will be back. 5 stars.

I haven't been to Zest for a while but went on Monday with my granddaughter and great grandson. The food was very nice and the drinks too. I had tea and my granddaughter had an iced mocha. We enjoyed our time together.
