Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been coming here for 4 years and the food is always fantastic. The beef iron bowl is my favourite, nice and spicy. I love the fact that the food is consistently delicious, each time I eat here.

This place is run by a couple; the Husband serves while the Wife cooks. We have been eating here since 2006; the food is amazing, reasonable portions and very well priced. We've always had great service, but, as there are just the two of them,...a little patience is needed when they are busy...you won't be disapointed in the food...More

I came to Palmy on a business trip and am staying here for the night. I walked into this restaurant hoping to have a nice meal after a day's hard work. One table was occupied by 9 people chatting away. Another table was taken by...a young couple looking at the menu. There was not a service person in sight. I took a menu from the counter and got to a table near the glass with two seats. A man (looking like the owner of the restaurant) came to me with a very blunt tone "Have you booked?" I said it is only me and I did not book. "Do I have to book to eat here?" I asked, looking around the almost empty restaurant. He said: "You will have to wait for a long time." "How long is the wait?" "You will have to wait for 30 minutes." "That is fine with me." The man took my menu and indicated to me to follow him. He took me to a table at a corner and put cutlery and serviette on it and off he went. A few minutes later, I was ready to order. Seeing him taking the order from the couple and having no intention to come to me, I went to him at the counter instead. He looked at me with a "why" look on his face. I said: "I am ready to order." He raised his voice: "I told you you have to wait for 30 minutes before I serve you." I said: "Yes, I understand that, but I am only putting the order in ..." Without me finishing what I wanted to say, I got the order with a very firm voice "No! You go back to your table and wait!" With that treatment, I decided that I cannot eat in that restaurant, no matter how hungry I am. Never!More

Very delicious meals served by friendly owner. A hidden gem of Palmerston North. Very affordable prices. Definitely recommended. We had the pork belly hot dish and chicken rice bowl and both were incredible. The korean plum wine is a must to try.

So authentic . Good portions and reasonably priced! They have the best ribs, squid and bimbap. I cannot recommend it enough. The exterior’s look flash but great service. I really suggest people to eat in and give a try and they will fall in love!

The food is really good and would not hesitate to go back for the food I note it seems to rated mid range to expensive I would rate cheap to mid range. I had the Iron Bowl recommended by a regular really good, my wife...a soup which she equally enjoyed. We arrived and there were two other tables occupied got sat down given menus etc all good. About 5 minutes after we arrived (no drink order taken no water on table) a couple of obviously regulars arrived, there order was immediately taken and their drinks arrived soon after (still nothing for us) A few quirky comments later did get us service, did see the funny side but having been in the business would have not accepted my staff ignoring one customer to serve a regular. Little serving incident aside really enjoyed the meal service picked up. Would not hesitate to go back.More

We just came for lunch as there’s “lunch special” written on the glass on the entrance. However when we were inside the man who looks like the boss of this shop told us in a very blunt tone in broken English “no lunch special, all...same price” already made us not very comfortable. When we looked at the menu all those Korean hot plate mains are over $21. We were only looking for cheap eats for lunch at the moment so we decided to walk out but even if we are looking for fine dine next time there’s highly possibly I’m not coming again either as I don’t want to pay that much with bad services. By the way it was a lunch time on Saturday and there was NO ONE in the restaurant. That’s probably why.More

This is a great restaurant to visit - plenty of options on the menu, beers, Soju and the host, Young, is a real character. Prices are reasonable and the food amazing. Located down Fitzherbert Avenue next to Rosie O’Gradies

Was recommended to come here by a client who goes here religiously. We absolutely love Korean food, and its not very common to find a place here in NZ that serves up crusty rice at the bottom of the clay pot the traditional way. I...was getting too full, then to discover crunch crusty rice at the bottom as a surprise....I ended up finding myself finished up to the last spoonful! We came on a cold evening, and what came out was perfect to keep is warm for the rest of the evening. A little on the pricey end for Korean food, but it’s great stuff.More

Our first experience of a Korean restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Good variety to choose from catering for all dietary options. Chose Option 2 platter for an entrée and it was great, especially the vegetarian pancakes. Would definitely go again.
