We love this place, lovely atmosphere, great staff and beautiful food. My daughter bought me for dinner and had the Chicken Satay Wrap which she loved and I had the Sizzle Steak on vegetables with chips which eas cooked to perfection. The sodas are nice and refreshing, we tried the Peach, Mango, and Green Apple, all were delicious. Thanks for a lovely dinner :)

I just needed a Thai lunch today, and was very glad to take a recommendation from locals. My wife and I decided to order a la carte instead of choosing from the attractive and tempting $15 set lunch menu. We chose the starter platter for two, along with side dishes of salad and rice noodles. Perfect. Each component was delicious, and although the items on the platter are fairly standard, each was cooked to maximise flavour and texture. Most other places serve 5 pieces per person; Chada includes 6.
I particularly appreciated the care that has gone into producing the sauces - even the mayonnaise on the salad is obviously home made, with hints of orange (I think!) The sate sauce is delicious, though I’d spice it up a little more with chilli flakes (provided!) Plenty of reasons to return to this lovely place. Considering the attention to detail in flavour balance and presentation, the prices are extremely reasonable. I think some of the critical reviews must come from people who usually buy from cheap take-away outlets.
Strawberry-mint mock tail was a surprisingly delicious find, and some people would find it a good accompaniment for hot curry.

We were a large group of around 16 people of all ages. We showed up on a Sunday nite around 7pm no sooner had we ordered food starting coming. The service was quick and fast and the food came out quickly also. We were very hungry so we really appreciated that the food came out so quickly. Food was wonderful and the price matched. I had a chicken laksa, not too spicy just right for me. Beer was well priced also. If you want a cheap eat with great service head to Chada Thai.

As a vegetarian I left unsure I had actually consumed a vegetarian dish but I was impressed with their pandemic processes. Staff came directly to the entry door to scan vaccination passes so that was great. Their sanitation of tables and menus was also in place. Was just great they had a defined space to welcome with a side desk at the entry. What was a bit mystifying was not having a waitress come back to the table to take orders…you walked up to a screened booth. That was totally fine and understandable but just not made clear when we were seated. As for the menu I was confused how a vegan option was possible for dishes that were based around oyster sauce or based around egg. Overall great staff, great attitude toward the pandemic situation and those I ate with certainly enjoyed their dishes that were served promptly.

Strangest customer experience ever. If you order a mild dish and it’s riddled with chilli, don’t bother mentioning it. Apparently you have to expect it be hot, even though the spice level is supposed to be mild. Just be grateful it wasn’t really hot. We all make mistakes. When you add fully 2 chopped chilli into the “mild” chicken dish, try not to be defensive. It will just ruin the customer experience. Just admit you slipped up. And seriously, don’t suggest to the customer that they buy a chocolate milk to make it bearable. Sigh, nice food, pity about the service.

Disappointed with my BBQ & Crsipy Pork on rice. The meats were very dry; obviously left over from the day or days before. But service is always good. Been there a few times & this is the first time I've been so dissatisfied with my meal.

Back again with more people so we could try a wider balance of dishes. Everything just as we hoped for. A couple of treats we seldom come across out of Asia - pineapple fried rice and a chef special fish curry were the highlight- but more temptations to return for

We felt like a thai lunch so came across chada thai while visiting Palmerston North. They had a great lunch special which was an entree and a main for $15 - two of us had green curry chicken as our main and it was as good and as hot as I have had it in Thailand.

My daughter took me to Chada That for a belated birthday. The service was on point very little waiting time before our meals arrived.
The food was delicious, the table was singing praise.
I won’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant food on point and reasonably priced.
See you next trip to Palmy.

We frequent Chada for takeaways, and while the food is always edible, we find that while we always ask for the same heat - Thai medium - it never seems to be the same twice in a row.
That said, the Pineapple Duck Curry is awesome, as is the Tom Yum Soup, Grilled Chicken, and Roti.
It’s a little on the pricey side, but it always a good go-to when you want a good meal.

Apologise that it is difficult to control the heat of the chilli in different lots even though our chefs have regularly standardized the amount of chilli that they added for medium hot and hot hot in each dish. Also, we can not taste the spiciness of the dish that we sell to the customers.
What we could try our best is the amount of chilli from our chefs.

Visited with my parents, brother, sister in law and nephews and what a find this place is!
Meals were bought out very quickly, fantastic service and family friendly. Great value for money too. Family were impressed with how well fed we all were for such a great price. Will definitely be back!

Excellent Thai food. Don't be put off by the slightly shop front look and having to order your food at the counter - the food is definitely worth it. We ate here two nights in a row when staying in Palmerston North because the food was too good to go anywhere else. The food was excellent value and being BYO was great too. Can't wait to return
