Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First time customers to this place - we came for brunch. The place is very dark inside and not that warm or inviting. But... we ordered brunch and took a seat in the lightest part of the room. The seats are basic and not comfortable enough to stay too long. The staff were super friendly and were excellent for service! Our food came very fast - major bonus for any restaurant!
I found my meal a bit strange (sourdough bread tasted very different to other sourdough I had before - didn't really like it). The eggs on it were perfectly cooked (poached and runny) which was great.
Would come again if in the same location and needed a quick breakfast, but other than that, probably would try a different place.

Been frequenting Rosie's for years, the food's always been good but they seemed to have ramped things up a notch further lately. Went for dinner there with the wife a week or so ago, had the fillet steak eggs & chips and the better half had salad & fries. The steak, as usual, was cooked to perfection & to be honest, just a good as the big-hitter restaurants in town e.g. Table 188 and Aberdeen - but half the price.
Staff as usual were awesome, big ups to Lisa, Tory & Bree (Bri? Brie?) - always a pleasure.

Wir waren am Donnerstagabend da, der Pub war gut besucht, das Guinness war kalt, die Burger gut.
Was will man mehr in einem Pub.
We were there on Thursday evening, the pub was well attended, the Guinness was cold, the burgers were good.
What more could you want in a pub.

On a work trip and went to this restaurant on a Tuesday night, hardly anyone in the restaurant and we had 10 people. We asked to put a table together and a very grumpy manager said we should have booked if we wanted 10 people. There was an empty table of 2 next to a empty table of 8. I know its level 2 covid but I though parties of 10 were allowed. She finally relented and we had a good night with great service from the waitress.
The next night we weren’t planning on going there but a couple of our group went down for a drink and as we walked past we thought we would call in for a drink too. There were 9 of us so again we asked if we could pull the table over ( same table as the night before and a very rude male waiter told us you should have booked like we told you last night. A conversation was had and again .... finally they agreed it wasn’t too hard to do.
However I had a wine (with great service from a lovely female waitress) and decided that I would go somewhere that actually wanted our custom. A few of us left. Obviously the manager of this restaurant thinks they didn’t need our money ( we probably would have all stayed for dinner if it hadn’t been such a drama) or custom as they were rude and difficult. It wasn’t that busy either.
A number of us have worked in hospitality and were quite shocked at the rudeness and the way they went out of the way to be difficult. Shame because it was a nice pub. Maybe a staff training day in customer service is in order as I certainly didn’t feel like a valued customer.

A table was booked for 12 (family) on a Saturday night. We arrived and were directed to table located on the 1st floor up a set of narrow stairs. After about 30 minutes it was noted on the bottom of the menu that to obtain food and drink one had to go to the bar order and pay. There was NO service!!!! During that "wait" time we were subjected to crowd noise so bad that to communicate with adjoining persons one had to talk into their ear and across the table a shout was required. The number of bodies in the place must have exceed a hundred with no social distancing. WE WALK OUT !

Found via the entertainment book & appreciated the 25% off.
Service wasn't great then some guy with loose tracksuit pants & a t-shirt hanging out from under his hoodie cleared our plates - I assume he works there???
Food was average, cheese on the pizza tasted very odd.
Very cool decor though!!

There are so many better pubs in Palmerston North than Rosie's. We had an issue with using vouchers recently purchased, and the manager at the time was rude, impatient, and she was unwilling to help. Food was mediocre and expensive. Customer service is the cornerstone of any business and unfortunately, Rosies falls flat and made this a very unwelcoming experience. Very sad, as this will spread far in the Massey community since a lot of students and clubs go there - not any more. Hopefully you can fix this in the future.

So we came here as a group for a work lunch just before Christmas. There was only about 10 of us and we were pretty quiet (stayed less than an hour, didn't get rowdy). But we couldn't even get a smile out of the waitress. And the bar staff weren't that much better. Maybe it was just that time of year. Food was ok, I didn't leave hungry. And pretty cheap as well. Would I come again? Maybe I'd try them for dinner, but not again for lunch. I have been for a drink after work once and the atmosphere was good.

We had a group of 10 on a Tuesday night. The food was adequate. We returned on Wednesday, visiting from out of town as it was close to our accommodation and convenient. The male waiter was rude, not once but twice. Quite frankly, after 50 years on the planet I've never experienced anything quite like it. Most of our group left and were better off for it.

What a great place and service, arrived in Palmerston North for lunch and went to Rosies. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left the service was excellant. I had the beef schnitzel and the wife had the eggs benny, best schnitzel i have had in a long time and wife's eggs benny were fantastic.
Highly recommend this place for great service and good honest food at a good price.
Thanks Rosie O'Gradys for a great experience.

Had a family lunch there on an unusually rainy Palmy Sunday! Mixed set of meals, the schnitzel, roast and a burger meal. All served piping hot, so fresh and tasty! Great staff, awesome service, great meals. Just a great pub!

After a very long couple of days travelling we made it to Palmerston North. Our motelier suggested this pub as a good place to relax over a cold drink and watch the rugby. We walked through the front door and thought it was perfect. We got a drink and found a table about 15 minutes before kick off, all was well - UNTIL a staff member waited until we turned our backs and snuck a “reserved” sign on our table. When we turned around we were surprised to see it and gently moved it aside as the ‘name and time’ on the sign were blank. Then Miss Rude stormed over and attacked us for moving the sign and told us we couldn’t sit there and there were no other options. We downed our first drink and left and found a much more hospitable place at the Lone Star in the Square.

We decided to end the weekend with dinner.
Rosie O'Gradys was the place to try.
A nice little Irish pub.
Clean and tidy and a good friendly pub atmosphere.
Friendly staff on duty that were more than helpful.
We grabbed a drink and found a table.
The noise level was good and we could hold a conversation without trouble.
Food arrived in a timely manner.
Gillian had chicken and I had a steak. Both were good and very filling.
We will be back

Fantastic friendly welcome, great service. Very large menu, good for the kids. I had Paddys Pork which was huge and delicious. My husband's schnitzel was also very good. Crowded, fun atmosphere but easy to find a table.
