Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrived at 7.40pm and immediately told by female staff “you are late and have 12 minutes to order” This was confronting and arrogant. Given the menu has limited choices, deciding what to eat was easy. Curried prawns - poor. rice, some small prawns drowned in...a creamy curry sauce. This dish needs some greens added and even the cook might consider chilli Chop chop salad - was good Barramundi - was good. Ordered some wine. The bottle arrived with no glasses. The waiter finally found some 15 minutes later and only when asked for a second time. Dessert - cheese platter and Eton Mess both good. Last drinks called at 8.30pm ( ordered one drink and waiter got that wrong) Restaurant closed at 9.30pm - encouraged to leave. Car spots at a premium and noted that female staff parking in a bay adjacent to a room. Clearly they could have parked in Maude Street. Service - poor. The young male waiter was fine but his female colleagues were all sadly lacking in attitude and possibly in the wrong industry. Unlikely to eat there again.More

The food was below average. Barramundi whilst fresh but accompanying sauce was bland. The mash potato was tasteless. Presentation resembled as if the chef poured a bottle of cream on the fish. The battered fish and chips was also bland. The fish was not the...freshest. Batter was not light and crispy but a tad over cooked and firm. Service was lacklustre. We’ve had better meals there in the past but in terms of the food we received on the night, it was disappointing.More

We were staying at the hotel and had read that this was the place to eat. Not the case. This is not a restaurant! At best a rowdy pub bistro. My barramundi would have been lovely except it was drowned in mashed potato. My partner’s...fried whiting was cooked beyond edible. We have been travelling through north, north east Victoria and this meal was the worst we’ve had. Don’t eat here if expecting good quality restaurant food.More

Staff are disinterested, from the outset they advise you that they will be closing early, they dump your food on the table, didn’t clear either first drink or entree from the table, upon receiving next drink and main. Even paying for your meal, staff weren’t...interested on how you food or experience was. Food was good, without been exceptional, I do speak from experience as I have frequented this venue for many years. Not a pleasant experience at all.More

Stay here every year for a dairy conference in Tatura. Exceptional rooms. Very modern. In the past few years the bar/bistro has closed of a night time earlier each year. This year 9pm. We travel in a large group and would love to sit down...and put more money through the wonderful business. I hope they bring the bar hours back.More

My partner & I had an opportunity to spoil ourselves with an afternoon cocktail & snack today. The initial service was friendly and prompt but that's where it ended. We would have liked to have enjoyed another beverage, the venue was well staffed but we...were ignored. We have been loyal patrons of the Parklake for many years but I think it may be time for a change.More

This restaurant used to be the place to go for fabulous food but sadly not anymore. We had lunch there last week with friends and to say we where disappointed with the food is an understatement, their lunch menu is very limited and way over...priced $28 for a chicken burger and chips is ludicrous our friend stated his Parma was just ok, my husband would have love a steak but that wasn’t on the menu. The place was empty and I can understand why, we won’t be back again!More

We had to make a last minute reservation traveling through from Canberra to Melbourne. The service was unexpectedly outstanding , Elisha gone above and beyond to make sure we have a great stay and we are now looking at taking our friends back for a...trip and stay with Parklake. Elisha is a kind of a person Shepparton should be extremely proud to have , not only the accomodation. She recommended the best coffee in town and tings we can do.. Thank you for making our trip so joyful. Aelita & AndyMore

Loved this restaurant! My wife and I ate here on a Friday evening. The food and service were excellent. I ate the Parklake Taste plate for entree. Comprised of an Aranchini ball, a duck spring roll, a scallop and some lemon pepper calamari. Out of...this world! They all tasted fantastic. My main was the lamb shoulder. Extremely tender meat, flawless mash and plenty of great tasting jus to mop up the mash! Wifey ate the ribs. The only thing that we thought could be improved was the gap between the entree and main. The size of the entree was quite substantial and the mains came pretty much straight after the entree. We needed a bit of digesting time!! Apart from that, the wait staff were attentive and helpful. Next time we're up in Shep we're coming back!More

The paella was the best. As for the rest...... the eye fillet steak was charcoal on the outside, rare on the inside and the parsnip puree a half teaspoonful smeared on the plate, the two asparagus spears were a treat. The awful yellow rubber in...the tumbler with a dob of cream and blue fairy floss atop was reported to be passionfruit and white chocolate pannacotta. The service was snappy. Ambience pleasant, although noisy. Four adults and three kids cost almost $400 for food.More

I attended a function here recently. The function rooms were lovely and comfortable. The staff were generally friendly and looked after us very well. The meals were huge and varied in quality - people at my table enjoyed their barramundi but commented that the steak...was rather tough and chewy. Overall, I enjoyed the night.More
