On a wet Saturday Evening after a long drive from Christchurch. We were made welcome even though the place was quite busy. The hospitality was just amazing . We were a party of 4. The food was excellent and the service again was well up...to standard. Thank You for some great West Coast Hospitality.More

The food was simply awful. The food tasted likes it had been microwaved and wasn't very expensive. I didn't finish all mine and the elderly lady that served us was in a rush and Very rude. Do not recommend and will never be back.

We came here due to it being no 1 on TA. My husband had lamb shank and was happy with his meal. I had local fish, Monk. The fish was nice apart from an unusual crumble on top. The potatoes were not hot, the butter...on the plate did not melt on them and they were fairly firm, like they must have been left overs? The veges were not quite cooked enough, so just an average meal, couldn't say overly enjoyable.More

Stopped in for a bite and managed to score the Tapas menu. The pork belly bites and karaage chicken were the highlights. The owners were great, giving us lots of must do’s in Westport. Great service and hospitality. Thanks

I ordered beer battered fish with potatoes and vegie's - got fish n chips with dry coleslaw. Notified tired staff - no response from kitchen. partners steak n chips was lovely medium sized steak dinner. Not enough chips but luckily he ate the ones I...was given. Waiter came out when we had all eaten our mains and asked if I had received my mains veg.No! Too late as we were done. Charged 100% and I'm hungry! Kids menu was average. Staff had no concept about healthy veg options for kids. So they shared some of my coleslaw. Kids dessert was upside down ice cream with sauce and 4 lollies. Cute but more suitable for a preschooler. Our dessert was a yummy sticky date pudding with ice cream and cream half a strawberry and 1 x blueberry. We probably won't be back as we can get better for half the price at any greasy spoon.More

Lovely meal of whitebait cooked how I like them. Husband had delicious meal of perfectlycooked steak. Unfortunately there was a small piece of wire cloth under the chips. Small discount of $5.00 was given.

Delicious food and quick service. The waitress and owner (?) were very welcoming and friendly. There were 7 of us and all of our meals were fantastic

A last minute decision to have an early dinner, they were busy and service was a bit slow but the food was excellent, the beer exactly what my husband needed after a busy touristing day, front of house and wait staff couldn't be faulted. Definitely...recommend the tapas pork belly with apple, home-made trifle and apple crumble. Well done, and thank you.More

We didn't have high expectations but it turned out really nice. Atmosphere was calm, interesting. Service was good. The food was really good, well cooked, nicely presented, tasted great. My wife and I gave our compliments to the chef. Wines were a bit new and...too cold. But our waiter was happy to change with no fuss so the whole dining experience turned out great. Highly recommended.More

It was a busy wet Sunday for Johnny's. Roast of the day sold out by lunch time. I had lamb shanks. Ordered two. They were huge! One would have been fine. Only problem is they were cold in the centre. Proprietor happily re-microwaved them... Just...didn't seem so good to be eating reheated meals in a mainstream restaurant.More
