Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely spot with good food options.
The chicken laksa is excellent!
Coffee wasn’t quite hot enough and was sad to see the yoghurt for my friand come in a single-use plastic container. Everything else came on plates and in cups. Would be good to see reusable ramekins here.

This is the best cafe I have been to for a long time. The staff were efficient and friendly. The food was divine. I had eggs benny with bacon. The bacon was nicely cooked and tasty, poached eggs were perfect and the sauce was lovely. It was even brought out very promptly. I also had a freshly squeezed orange which was also the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend to visit this place.

I love Odelay! Such a great cafe and the best coffee and service in Queenstown. I’ve been coming to this cafe for years and I can honestly say the staff are always so polite and friendly! Lots of locals come here because it is great! The food is high quality and made fresh daily on site. I absolutely hate cafes that sell those generic slices that have no taste! The cakes and slices are delicious here but especially the buttermilk banana bread which is amazing! I mostly come for breakfast and it never disappoints. The kids lunchboxes are great value also!
Toastie, apple juice, cookie and fresh fruit salad for $8. In summer you can sit outside which is nice and allows my toddler room to play while we eat. So if you have a toddler this is handy.

Asked for an orange juice, received a
Tiny glass which was overfilled with ice I took 3 sips of the orange juice was finish, I asked them kindly to top up as I hadn't asked for ice, after rolling their eyes at each other they topped the glass up about 2cms.
Also received the worst scrambled eggs, soggy mush. Didn't even eat it .

I went here with a group of 6 people and all together we spent over $160. We all ordered at the counter together and were put on the same table number.
All of our drinks came out together , but we had a problem with our food. Four of the mains came out , and then we were left waiting about 5 minutes after the first lot of food had come out to be asked if we were waiting for anything else , which we stated we were still waiting for 2 more meals. The girl went away without any explanation about where our food was. We waited another 10 minutes and by this time everyone else in our group had finished their meals , without any update on where our food was. The waitress stated it should not be too much longer. Once our food came out we asked what had happened / had our meals been forgotten ? The waitress then said it had been really busy , no apology and that “I hope you still enjoy your food”... the food was good but the whole service ruined the whole experience. We won’t be coming back but I hope in the future staff can improve their communication even if it is busy, instead of blaming mistakes on this.

Booked here on a very busy Sunday in the long weekend for Breakfast. Coffees & Breakfast were very nice. Service was pleasant also. Only small criticism would be $4.50 for 3 extremely small potato croquettes. Other than that would definitely dine here again.

As usual the coffee was fantastic. However, the savory scone had a very weird taste. May be because of the indian flavor put into it. It had carom seeds or cumin seeds which spoilt the entire taste of the scone.
This was a very bad fusion of putting indian flavors in scone.

Nice cafe near airport with great views in the outdoor eating area.
Portion sizes quite small but tasty.
Free wifi.
Cafe is in a retail shopping district but still has nice views from outside

I travelled with family friends to Queenstown and stopped for lunch at Odelay. Unfortunately they 'ran out' of burgers which was very disappointing as it was not even that late. I had to settle for eggs benedict for lunch. The food was good and the coffee of excellent quality.

We had arrived in Queenstown the day before and i needed an early coffee, a quick search showed here opened the earliest and wasn't a big drive.
I tumble in a notice the barista is dressed as a carrot - this is like 7am .. ok!! the staff banter about the day ahead and my coffee is ready.
I have to ask about the carrot -- turns out she thought the vibe was a little off when she started so wanted to add some light to the day - mission accomplished - and the coffee was awesome.
** we came back a day latter but missed out on lunch, they did recognize me though and gave a recommendation for Canyon Brew - is the team read this: Great recommendation!!!

We stopped here twice while in Queenstown recently. The first primarily as it was open early and we needed a quick breakfast to go. We returned as we liked what we saw and were not disappointed at all with food, service or the coffee! It got very busy from what looked like locals and tourists alike. We will definitely be back next time we are in Queenstown.

Enjoyed our breakfast here but one waitress in particular ruined our dining experience and will not be returning. We have lived here for 20 years and had family down so thought we would suggest here for breakfast. Her attitude towards us was horrendous! When asking a simple question, we were responded with a “WHAT”. Spent close to $200 and what a waste of money that was. Will never return and never recommend.

What a fantastic cafe. Always busy! Great coffee and creative menu. Just loved the Breakfast Bun, Scrambled Eggs, and Smoothie Bowl options. Ended up visiting three times and would happily go back. Always plenty of staff, efficient and friendly and good range of cabinet food as well.

Great selection of cabinet food or from menu. Egg Benedict really good as was the bacon egg and avo bun. Lovely sitting at tables outside on a warm afternoon. Prompt service.

I had the misfortune of ordering the leek and potato and mushroom soup
It would have to be the worst soup I’ve ever had it was extremely watered down to the point it was virtually dishwater and then somebody in the kitchen had decided to put extra pepper in it so the only thing you could taste was pepper
Was very disappointed in this I expected much better from this cafe
I have used this cafe a lot during my 30 years in Queenstown and I’m beginning to wonder if it’s changed hands and is under new management at the moment I definitely would not recommend it to any of my friends and I think the local should stay away
