Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was perfect, a little crowded, but that’s to be expected. The food was great and it obviously is a favorite of the locals

Breakfasted at Vudu on our previous visits to Queenstown and had to come back this time. Always a great selection of food with great coffee. Had the French toast, which was amazing. Always good service too, even when they are flat out busy.

We had a late breakfast at this cafe in central Queenstown. They were very busy and this looked a good sign. We didn’t have to wait too long for a table and the service was very good. We enjoyed dishes of smashed avocado and scrambled...eggs. Both were delicious. The coffee was very good too.More

What a well oiled machine this cafe is, order from the menu or from the cabinet, sweet or savoury, sit inside or out and enjoy great food served by an incredibly busy yet so so friendly team.

Great coffee; carrot cake to accompany it utterly marvellous and best ever. It’s such a generous serve you can easily share it with another friend. Highly competent and efficient staff who manage a restrictive space with great aplomb.

We recently stayed in Queenstown on holiday, and we were up early for breakfast. We stumbled upon Vudu Cafe and were really treated to a fine breakfast. They have a large menu of coffee, pastries, and breakfast items. There are also juices and smoothies. I...selected a cappuccino with alternate milk and fresh orange juice. The orange juice is pressed and served over ice. For my entree, I had the pina colada French toast served with pineapple. There are beautiful cakes on display including carrot cake. There's background noise due to the loud music and coffee grinding, but the overall ambiance for indoor and outdoor seating is quite good. I would eat at Vudu Cafe daily if I could!More

This place sits right by the lake in the town center. The view from the outdoor sitting area is fabulous! We visited the place twice on two days. On the first visit we had coffee with cake and muffin. They were all very good. The next...day we came back for dishes off the menu, and they are at a whole different level. The French toast was perfectly cooked. The flavor is so refreshing. The taste of the miso summer veggie hash was beautifully balanced. The place was busy both of the two days when we visited. It took about 5 or 8 minutes until a table became available for us. The service was friendly and quick. One of our best brunch experiences in NZ.More

At first I thought the coffee was average but I think the problem was it was just way too hot. It tasted pretty good once it cooled a bit. Very spenny and the food was just ok, not very flavourful. It also took 40 minutes...to come to the table. It was busy but I think 40 minutes is a bit long to wait. Our main waitress was lovely The cafe is really squishy. We may have enjoyed it more if we sat outside, I'm not sure. I initially gave this review three stars but as I wrote this, it was more like a 2 star. Just a suggestion - for your "no gluten added" products, it would be appreciated if they could be on the same shelf, ideally separated from gluten products rather than randomly scattered in the cabinet. Probably wouldn't visit again.More

Up to now it was our favourite coffee, breakfast even lunch spot in Queenstown. Since we were charged an addition $1.50 for a take away coffee, even though we brought our own take away cups and received only $0.50 back. My almond coffee cost $8.00!...Surely I questioned this but was told, this is the new way to charge. Sad honestly, I like the food and coffees, but there are totally overpriced and this extra charge is robbery.More
