We treated ourselves to a night at Roaring Meg's and even recommended them to a couple we met in Lake Tekapo ( we then bumped into them in Roaring Meg's!!) Front of house service first class and very good wine recommendation with our mains. The...More

This place just did not do it for us - the service was patchy - particularly front of house, food quality average - there is much better to be found in queenstown for sure - we regretted going

The best rack of lamb I have every had and I have traveled to New York, for instance. The wine suggested for the lamb was also very good and the service was excellent. If I had the time I would have returned the next day...More

The food was super tasty, the environment is classic and warm. The best was the service from Marie, the french girl! She was the best! Thank you for a beautiful night! Ana and Antonela.

A very quaint restaurant located upstairs in a historic house. There was only one service person who did everything from receiving the guests to serving the guests. The dinner was superb and the price was very reasonable. There is no view from the dining room...More

I am a connoseur of Lamb and I’ve enjoyed it all over the world, and this place did not disappoint in any way. The multiple awards on their wall for excellent food is no hype.

Their lamb and venison were really great and generous servings too. The wine pairings were perfect. A bit heavy on the pocket but worth the price.

This place was brilliant great food not sure if they are taking the Mickey with the decor as it’s very old fashioned but couldn’t fault the food. The duo of lamb was incredible and the steak was great. What I really liked was the meals...More

Searching for the perfect NZ Lamb dish? Then look no further than Roaring Megs, this unique little restaurant will not disappoint! Established in 1981, Megs has continued to lead the field by being the only restaurant in the area to receive 20 consecutive NZ Beef & Lamb Gold plates(incl. 2018) and win both the recent Central Otago Lamb Dish of the Year and NZ Beef & Lamb Peoples Choice competitions. Megs unique menu has distinct European/NZ influences and the Rack of Canterbury Lamb and Lamb Cutlets with Confit are must tries whilst in Queenstown. The atmosphere and Victorian decor is the perfect setting for a romantic, candlelit dinner or group get together. Arrive before the sun sets for a Remarkables view.
