Staying at the hotel, we had breakfast included in our rate. There was a menu with 7 hot dishes to chose from as well and a decent continental self service section. The Adventurers breakfast was a decent size and the smashed avo dish also got...the thumbs up. The only downside was that all the poached eggs were over cooked and hard rather than nice and runny.More

Amazing views over the lake and mountains - this little restaurant is in the St Moritz hotel. We had drinks and dinner overlooking the lake and mountains at sunset - it was a lovely experience.

Lombardi is located in the Hotel St Moritz. I chose to dine there as I was staying in the hotel and I had just spent a long day traveling to Milford Sound. The dining room is not large but it does have a wonderful view...of Lake Wakatipu. I began with a starter of heirloom tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, herbs, and balsamic vinegar. It was absolutely delicious. I would have liked to have seen more choices on the dinner menu, though, for the main course. Most of it consisted of a choice of meat with your choice of sauce and side, or pizza. I selected the salmon, the béarnaise sauce, and the herbed roasted potatoes. It was very good. The wine list was fairly extensive. The service was good, but not outstanding. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner and particularly the convenience of dining in the hotel where I was staying.More

The views, setting and menu are all very good. The food we had was nice, very well presented and reasonable value but the service is just terrible. It took forever for them to acknowledge and seat us and then order even though it wasn't busy....It felt more like a caffeteria than a restaurant in a 5 star hotel sadly.More

We visited Lombardi not knowing what to expect. The restaurant is located in a five star hotel and sometimes hotel food can be pretty bland. Not so at Lombardi. We chose steaks. The rule is you choose a sauce and a side dish with you...steak so we selected different sauces and different side dishes which we shared (the side dishes, not the sauces). The meal was delicious. We also had wonderful desserts. Mention must be made of our wonderful waitress, Aarui, who could not have been more friendly or professional.More

We were hoping for a special Christmas day dinner for the kids as we were travelling for the holidays. The restaurant charged $170 for each adult and $50 for each child. This did not include any drinks. In fact, when we said we were good...with filtered tap they told us they were only offering bottled water at a charge. (Not very green). The food was good but it came with three courses, none of which I would consider expensive items at a restaurant. We were hoping for some festive entertainment, but it was a pretty standard dinner. To top things off they added a holiday surcharge to the entire bill and asked for a tip. Our bill for two adults and two kids under the age of 9 was $500. DisappointedMore

Try the coffee cured venison loin or pan seared scallops and octopus avocado puree. My grilled rack of lamb didn’t disappoint as did many of the roasted lamb racks that I had previously on this trip and my stir fry broccoli and bok choy in...oyster sauce and chili oil was a great spicy complement to the lamb. Our main course of venison loin was also superb. Our server made a good wine recommendation to go with both our dinners. Great views and food to impress your spouse or chosen one.More

Oh Lombardi what happened?? We’ve been to eat here so many times over the last few years, as a couple, with friends, bringing family when they’ve visited etc. and we’ve always rated it as one of our favourite places to go as it’s always been...amazing. So we decided to go for our first wedding anniversary. And sadly, we were quite disappointed overall. I hate leaving less than positive reviews but what’s changed? Even the menu looked different (and strangely not as pleasing to the eye if I can be fussy about fonts and layouts??). It wasn’t that it was particularly bad, the starter and desert were ok (very close to overdone sugar on the creme brûlée), the main was ok, just nothing was to the high standard we would usually expect from you guys, more like a pub meal. I don’t know if it’s the difference of having meat and choosing the sides rather than the usual delicious plated and well thought out main we’re used to, but I found the sliced tomatoes on the plate a random addition, the sides somewhat bland, and the cafe de Paris sauce was definitely not any cafe de Paris I’ve tried before (had a sweet taste to it and was slightly pink). I hope you go back to the old ways or that we just happened on a not so good day.More

My wife and I went to Lombardi restaurant on our dinner date. Our experience in this place was amazing. Best romantic place in the heart of Queenstown with million dollars view. Decor/ambience is charming and food is very impressive. Food is seasonally fresh and menu...offers a small but varied range of dishes to suit all preferences. We had Coffee Cured Venison Loin, Harissa Roasted Cauliflower, wood fired pizza and I would really recommend to try Lombardi’s signature mains “Te mana Lamb”. Everything we ordered was very delicious and the presentation was excellent. Service is very accommodating with food and serving preferences. Staff were extremely pleasant and knowledgable, especially “Thapelo” he was very friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with high quality food and impeccable presentation. We will definitely be going again very soon and highly recommend to all...More
