Oh Lombardi what happened?? We’ve been to eat here so many times over the last few years, as a couple, with friends, bringing family when they’ve visited etc. and we’ve always rated it as one of our favourite places to go as it’s always been...amazing. So we decided to go for our first wedding anniversary. And sadly, we were quite disappointed overall. I hate leaving less than positive reviews but what’s changed? Even the menu looked different (and strangely not as pleasing to the eye if I can be fussy about fonts and layouts??). It wasn’t that it was particularly bad, the starter and desert were ok (very close to overdone sugar on the creme brûlée), the main was ok, just nothing was to the high standard we would usually expect from you guys, more like a pub meal. I don’t know if it’s the difference of having meat and choosing the sides rather than the usual delicious plated and well thought out main we’re used to, but I found the sliced tomatoes on the plate a random addition, the sides somewhat bland, and the cafe de Paris sauce was definitely not any cafe de Paris I’ve tried before (had a sweet taste to it and was slightly pink). I hope you go back to the old ways or that we just happened on a not so good day.More
