Had a very relaxing and well presented meal here. The staff were welcoming and happy to enter into banter with you. Food was great and my steak cooked to what a med/rare steak should be. This place has traded under several other names over the...years this being the latest. The staff attentive and natural which is not always the way in this town.More

Definitely the best mulled wine I had in Queenstown. Service 5* with all the staff, kindness, smiles, everything was here.

As a Kiwi resident of 15 years, I've had the pleasure of taking many trips down to Queenstown, and each time I return to Captains Restaurant. The quality of the food is bested only by the excellent service. I had a ribeye steak which was...cooked to a perfect medium-rare, compliments to chef Ross. My wife had the crayfish which was also delicious. Our Dutch waiter Mads was a joy to have around and provided us with a brilliant service. We will be returning to Captains in the future.More

Sat at one of the tables outside on a lovely sunny day - great place for people watching. Great food and an awesome Bloody Mary! Friendly staff.

Finally managed to track down Crayfish they had two and sold by weight we brought the larger. Crayfish was cooked well and we enjoyed it. Service was good. From memory there were other things on their menu we would look at, wouldn't hesitate eating here...again.More

Centrally located in the mall, cosy setting. Good range of main options. Lamb rack was excellent as was the apple pie with butterscotch sauce. Prompt service. Would definitely revisit.

The food was so great on the first night that we went back again the next night. The seafood chowder was really as good as it gets and the apple pie for dessert was really yummy.

First time here, was a nice morning so I ordered the big breakfast plus a long black and sat outside. Service was really friendly and the coffee and food both came out quickly, it tasted as good as it looked! Good value for money and...couldn’t fault the food… especially their delicious sausagesMore
