looked at tripadvisor for recommendations on where my family and i should go to dinner and found blue kanu taking the no. 1 spot which i later found out was for a good reason. the food is slightly pricy for the portion, but the flavour...and quality of the dishes was truly amazing. the service was great and we had a fantastic night. shoutout to the bartender who made the best esspresso martini ive had!More

We went for dinner and loved the decor and vibes of this restaurant. The staff were super friendly and gave great service. The Asian/ pacific island fusion food was so flavoursome and creative. We had oysters, fried chicken, prawn toast and 2 rounds of dumplings....My 13 year old asked if we can go here every time we come to Queenstown. We will definitely be back.More

We popped in here for a quick drink - we had not booked ahead - they were able to accommodate us at the bar, and the staff were friendly. The place was bustling and the food looked amazing. We are hoping to go back soon...and sample the food. It would be important to book beforehand as they were not able to offer people seating for a meal if they arrived at the door.More

Went to Blue Kanu based on trip advisor reviews. Has a very mixed experience. The smoked fish salad was outstanding as an entree. I'd ordered the Chinese sausage and clam main but the waitress brought a tofu green curry instead. When questioned she said my...original choice was sold out. She did offer to remove the curry from the bill (good customer service) but I declined this and opted to try the curry. Found it a bit bland. Overall, it wasn't the great experience I was expecting.More

This was our favorite restaurant during our stay in Queenstown. Everything we ordered was fantastic and the service was upbeat and attentive. I highly suggest a visit to this restaurant. You can't go wrong.

We visited here on a recommendation from friends and were definitely not disappointed. You definitely need the book well in advance as it is busy and popular. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and decor are great and fit with the pacific/Hawaiian theme...perfectly. The bar range is a good size and caters to all tastes. The prices are reasonable for the experience. The food is top class. I had the shitake mushroom starter which was exceptional and then my wife and I ordered the beef cheek and pork belly for mains. The pork belly had a bit of heat to it but really nice but the beef cheek was out of this world. The size of portions are quite large so we couldn't finish everything but there was still room for a port to finish the meal. This was a high light to our visit to Queenstown.More

Thai green curry is so creamy and the flavours are incredible. Pork belly OMG so so so good!! Michael our waiter was attentive and was great a guiding us through the menu. Only complaint is that the shiitake spring rolls were way too salty
