Rātā is delicious, inventive, generous & adventurous, so wonderful! Had a great meal here of steak and pork and 2 beautiful vegetable dishes as well as a fire cracker cocktail and local red wine and beer. Bathroom is also lovely and clean and the ceiling...is cool!More

We could not fault Rata on anything. It was without doubt one of the best meals we have had in a very long time, Every dish was delicious, and the service was also top notch. It certainly isn't the cheapest meal in town, but if...you want to treat yourself - go nuts.More

We had a selection of dishes from the Starters and Sides to share. This was a perfect way to enjoy a delicious meal. Highly recommended.

Service & food second to none and always consistent. Yeserday's lunch was : entre of crudo (sooo good), main of perfectly cooked duck breast followed by lemon curd with lemon sorbet, Italian meringue and kawakawa crumb - delicious. My wife's main was a warm lamb...salad also very nice. All washed down with a Te Awanga chardonney (from Hawkes Bay). We will definitely be back soon.More

Outstanding service & the highlight of our experience. Staff were very friendly & super efficient , they kept refilling our water glasses, offering more drinks & clearing empty plates quickly & no long waits for our food. An interesting take on paua with the coquettes..., the kingfish entree is a must certainly the star of the show, the salmon was also very good, we ordered the shearing merino lamb main for the two of us but it could have easily feed 3 people. A shame it isn’t served with anything else but we ordered the horopito potatoes & that paired nicely. Drink wise the basil lemonade and apple sour were both very tasty & refreshing. Overall we really enjoyed our whole experience. A credit to team solid performanceMore

The food was mind blowing, the service top notch, and the wine list beautifully crafted. Can’t ask for more. The clams, the fish crudo and the venison were sublime. Can’t wait to go back!

I had really high hopes for this one but I guess as nice as it was, it just wasnt memorable. Its missing the 'wow' factor. Location wise, its tucked away behind other buildings (so no view). It had a Scandinavian, almost school dinner type feel...to the style of the restaurant. It was lacking personality. The service was friendly and the wine choice good. The main menu was a little lacking in choice but the lamb we had was delicious.More

No unfortunately. Wine is by the glass though, as well as by the bottle.
