Great place to chill out after a full on day sight seeing. Drinks at $5 each were awesome and food was great too! Chicken wings are a highlight and the kids meals are amazing bang for buck. My kids loved them!
It was the first eatery we stumbled upon on our walk in to town and we didn't need to go any further. Daily specials and decent beer made it a win-win, so much so, we went back the next night. Nice to find somewhere to...eat that doesn't break the bank!
Friendly staff too. Highly recommend.More
So we got a very salty steak, I had salty natchos. I took it here steak back to the bar to let them know and was asked by the guy, what do you want me to do about it. And not nicely either. Yes we...got a replacement and the lady who brought to was nice. 1st time visiting from out if town. Unfortunately won't be returning for another meal.More
Stumbled across this gem of a pub. Had house burger with bacon/cheese. Was delicious, it has to be the best burger I've ever had. The side of fries were also superb. 10/10 to the chef. Cider was tasty too. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Came across 1876 by chance! After arguing about what we all wanted for dinner we went for a walk around. Very pretty from the outside with fairy lights and flowers (fake) like a wedding set up. We wanted to sit outside by the fire and...were lucky as no smokers were there which was fab for us as hate the smell and the inside is just a bar! The food was really good and fantastic value! Kids meals of chicken nuggets and chips was $5! House wine was $5! Husband and daughter had fajitas which they both really enjoyed and were $16 each. We also had small plates to share. The bbq wings were “amazing” the cauliflower bluffalow was really good and the calamari was also good! Totally surprised how good the food was and the value. I would love to see a no smoking area outside as I am sure when the normal tourists are about again (we came 2021 January so Covid meant no international tourists) the smoking will be very off putting for many)More
Stopped in for lunch as we were passing through Q-town. 3 of us chose a Bowl. One chose a vegetarian meal. We travelled the South island for 10 days - and EVERYONE agrees that this food was the best we had experienced during our trip....The bowl had chickpeas, beets or beet relish, a protein, cubed potatoes, pumpkin and maybe a couple of other things. It was DELICIOUS and well worth the price. Atmosphere was relaxed, staff were very friendly. Our waiter recommended the bowl and it was exactly perfect. Music was great too. Highly recommended!!More
I made a booking for 9 people at 8pm. We arrived at 7.55pm & was told our table was not ready as he pointed to two people sitting at our big table. We were told have to wait outside, being winter it was very cold...& dark. After waiting 10mins outside & watching through the window we could see that no-one had even started to prepare our table - we had enough of being cold & decided to leave. Now considering we turned up at a reasonable time before our booking - this was totally unacceptable, let alone waiting outside in the middle of winter is disgraceful. Needless to say didn't go back & will never go back.More
