Fabulous Pizza

Pizza is all about good ingredients presented well - and that is exactly what you can expect from Francesca's. We ordered a wide selection of takeaway pizzas to feed a ravening horde and everyone was as happy as a clam. Next time we'll dine in. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and would suit couples or groups. Outstanding!

I have dined at Francescas many times, and on my recent visit, they did not let me down. I had my usual polenta fries and potato skins for starters (shared amongst our group) and had the House made potato gnocchi, braised beef cheeks which was devine. The best dish they have is the Cauliflower Rissoto, but it hasn't been on the menu for a while, and I wish they would bring it back.

Excellent pizza

We had dinner a week ago and left a little disappointed with the gnocchi meal but today we went for lunch and had a delicious venison pepperoni pizza and a perfect gorgonzola/walnut salad. Our server Pete from England was outstanding and very engaging. We will certainly return.

Again A Fabulous Experience

Cheers to the waiter who used his initiative and made a two seater a three for our inpromtu visit. Note: Always book ahead this is very popular! Service very friendly and relaxed. Not at all rushed to move off the table and drinks replenished as well as the water without ashing! Had Pizza and it was so great, daughter had vegan and it looked superb! Sadly our Friday booking was cancelled due to the unexpected flooding so will have to just come again when we are next down.

Family late lunch

The service was excellent they looked after our grandson just fine and the food was very good I had a prawn linguine which was excellent and my wife and daughter shared a large pizza and mixed salad that they both enjoyed and took a doggy bag of pizza home as they couldn't eat it all.

Burnt pizza & terrible service

I asked why my pizza was so burnt. The lovely english fellow in charge at the caravan told me that's how its supposed to be. I have traveled all thru Italy eating pizza. Never have I had pre cooked bases which are burnt. Bad pizza and bad customer service I will never return

Found this caravan open just before it closed, we ordered a vegetarian and Margherita pizza. Crispy thin pizzas with lots of flavour is what arrived. Our kids can get picky but there was no complaints tonight. Recommend

Neat mobile wood fire pizza trailer on Brownston Street.

Francesca's Pizzas is a mobile wood fire pizza trailer located along Brownston Street in the town centre. It is part of a food truck scene in that area, situated in a small cluster with a couple of outdoor tables and a fire pit where you can keep warm while your food orders are being prepared. Opening hours are 4-9pm daily. We stopped by one evening our recent stay in Wanaka. Francesca's keeps things simple, offering up two sizes of 5-6 different pizza types. We enjoyed watching them prepare and bake our Pepperoni pizza in a wood fired oven. Our pizza was served up in just in no more than 10 minutes and we were ready to return to our hotel to enjoy. We found our pizza from Francesca's was rather decent. We enjoyed the venison pepperonis. Cheese, arugula an other toppings were ok. Crust was softer than we like but not bad. Overall,the pizza was good, nothing amazing but perhaps better than what one might expect in a small town in South Island. On that basis, we'd return to Francesca's for another pizza during future visits to Wanaka.

Disappointed by GF and normal pizza. Lacking in flavour and toppings. Maybe it was due to the fact our order had been made after a rather large order had been dealt with.
