Eichardt's Private Bar, what can I say but it was so good we went there 2 of our 3 nights in Qt. We wanted to get down while things were reasonable quiet and so ended up week after Queens Birthday. Thrilled to be able to walk in and get a great wee table facing the fire. The tapas was such a hit, individual dishes from $8 - $13 choice of bread, wonderful hot dishes to desserts and cheese. 5 for $50 unbeatable value. All enough for 2 to share. Standouts for us over the 2 nights were the Squid Ink tempura calamari, pork cheek croquettes, beef cheek and horseradish mash and lamb gyros. The mulled wine was excellent too. Big shout out to all the staff who are all so enthusiastic, friendly and attentive, they have had a hard time and we felt really welcome and valued. Wine and water topped up unobtrusively and they had some great cocktails on the list. Top of our list in QT and will be our first port of call on the next trip down.

After walking around Queenstown’s parks and gardens we decided to rest here at cocktail hour. The blackboard outside advertised Aperol Spritzers $14, so we said yes, that sounds good to us. We chose a little table out front looking at the lake and the passing parade of people. The drinks came and they were huge, beautifully garnished and tasted just right. We’re becoming experts at judging these Spritzers as we enjoy them everywhere we go around the world and at home. We took our time over them as the location was so perfect. I recommend stopping here if you are ever passing.

You absolutely must have drinks and tapas here or at the very least try the chowder and chardonnay for $35....all are delicious. The service is friendly but high class, the ambience and views are just beautiful and very intimate. The apple pie martini, old fashioned and ink calamari were standouts as were the chowder and chardonnay. Our absolute favourite drinks/food experience in Queenstown. Highly recommnded.

W eat to this restaurant with no preconceived ideas. Had the chefs choice menu - couldn’t fault it! The mushroom and Pinot noir pate was to die for. Luke the waiter was great for a bit of light hearted banter and very knowledgeable about the food being served. Definitely a place to re-visit if back in Queenstown.

We came here for breakfast with friends and were really impressed. The menu is so appealing that we struggled to choose. Between us we had 6 different menu items and they were all great, and fairly equally priced to other places in town. The service is truly 5* and the views are beautiful. We will definitely be back.

My Hotel had called to make a booking
For high tea. I called to change the time but they couldn’t find the booking and told me to call in the morning.
I called and Marie took the booking at 1pm and my credit card details. I made plans around that.
She later called to say the kitchen was busy and they couldn’t deal with a high tea reservation before 3pm. Our flight was at 345. The manager said told Marie he couldn’t be bothered to speak with me.
Totally their right to decline a booking. Just a shabby way to do it. Also a tad inflexible after making a commitment and demanding credit card information.

Booked a table for 6 people, 1 month in advance for a special business occasion and the inconsiderate, thoughtless arrogant and small minded manager cancelled it 2 days prior for a better booking. Well up yours Eicharts as a long term local I will never dine at your establishment again. Plus you are gonna get this write up to anyone who asks. You know last time we came you also screwed up but we thought we would give you the benefit of the doubt and stupidly booked again. More fool us we wont again. Ratings based on last visit as this one was cancelled...thanks mate

This was to celebrate a retirement of a friend. It was a terribly disappointing experience. The sandwiches were huge and not refined at all for a high tea experience. The contents were not nice (grissly meat etc) and neither of us enjoyed it. The scones were lovely as were the hot little nibbles. Then the dessert was fudge with a couple of macarons. The cocktails we ordered were not pleasant and they redid them when we highlighted it. Not a good high tea experience and extremely disappointing. We did highlight our concerns the following day and they did offer us a cocktail each to make up ... bu the damage had been done. Hopefully they have enhanced this side of their operation.

We recently visited Eichardt's Bar on the lake waterfont having been recommended the tapas experience. We weren't disappointed. We chose 5 off the vast list on offer and along with a couple of chardonnays we relaxed and enjoyed having gained a window seat. The staff were very attentive and explained each tapa when placed at our table. Highly recommended.
We were also seeking the High Tea experience but sadly 24 hrs notice was required.

Walking by the bar we saw the blackboard outside Eichardt's advertising Mulled Wine $14. It was cold and my wife enjoys mulled wine so we went in for a drink. The atmosphere was so relaxed and staff in the bar were excellent. Tim from The Netherlands (I guessed his nationality correctly) looked and played the part of a waiter with panache and charm. We ended up staying for dinner and the food was tasty and we just relaxed in front of the wood fire.

Food was AMAZING! And our host and bartender were both friendly, helpful and made the dinner a real experience. We started with the mulled wine and specialty hot chocolate advertised at the door. Then moved on the try nearly all the tapas on the menu and they were all incredible - including the lamb dish recommended by our host. And my husband highly recommends the lock, stock and barrel cocktail - he enjoy watching it being made as much as drinking it!

We were fairly disappointed by our drinks and meal at Eichardt's Bar after reading so many positive reviews. Service was friendly but a bit slow. The food was not great - lamb ribs were fatty and hard to eat, fresh bread was dry and overbaked, and the seafood chowder was fairly bland. The views of the lake are nice, and the cocktails were fine, but with so many great spots in Queenstown, I don't know that we'd be eager to return.

Tapas to die for. The mushroom pate was awesome, Squid Ink Calamari was superb, beef cheek was melt in your mouth tender, lamb gyros - yum, and parmesan churos was delicious. The staff were attentive, engaging and fun to be around. Wish we lived closer so I could go regularly.

We booked last night with first table. The service and the food was amazing. In particular the squid ink calamari,seafood chowder and the beef cheek.
We were there for nearly 3 hours and tried most of the menu and overall it was fabulous. The wait staff were very knowledgable and went the extra mile

My third visit to Eichardt's bar over a number of years. The two previous experience were great. This time, really poor. If an establishment is going to charge premium prices, then they should match it premium service. Had to wait over half an hour for our drinks to arrive and then the whole order did not turn up. The food we ordered was not a shadow of the quality we had on previous visits. Really disappointing.
