Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have dined at Mora, previously called Akaroa, many times with family and friends. The food is exceptional, the wine superb, the ambiance equal to none and the service first class. I will continue to book there for brunch and lunch.

We started off our time at Mora with a fantastic wine tasting! Thanks so much to Vicki for being an incredibly warm and fun host and for pouring so many great wines! We followed up our tasting with a delicious lunch. Truly one of the...best meals we had during our time in New Zealand. Our only regret was not getting more wine! I hope someday you can start exporting the Eden Chardonnay to the US. Fantastic!More

Charming winery. Attention to explanation was superb. Our host was Emily - delightful. Explained the wines, the story of the winery and made the experience very personable. Unlike some wineries in the area , this did not feel commercialized, and the cost of the tastings...is reduced if you buy a bottle. A must visit and tasting.More

This is attached to the winery and is one of the best meals ever, period. Wine tasting was informative and personal, unlike some in the area. Not a big name (yet) for Pinot Noir in central Otago after a change in name but beats many...of the big names in the area for exceptional wine and much better prices too. Great food, great wines, great staff and great setting. What else could you want!?More

Don’t bother coming here alone. I was put inside on a gorgeous day (no other guests were inside) while there were many tables still empty at 1pm. I left after being ignored by the Maitre d’ after 30 minutes. More tables were empty when I...left.More

Booked brunch which was delicious and then we followed that up with a wine tasting with the very knowledgeable Vicky. Both experiences were fantastic and the setting was gorgeous. Make sure you book in advance for both!

We visited Mora as part of a multiple winery tour during our trip to Queenstown. The winery service for our tasting was friendly and excellent. The ambiance was quite good for outdoor tasting, and most importantly the wine was fantastic. We loved the Pinot Noir...selection and purchased a bottle to take back to our hotel. Mora was the best winery and the highest quality.More

The family's holiday lunch at Mora restaurant began with delightful dining moments and a pleasant atmosphere. While enjoying several glasses of wine, we relished a delicious spread, including a salmon and antipasto platter. The presentation was splendid, and the flavours were exceptional. However, upon entering,...we were disappointed when the male staff at Mora guided us to an unpopular shaded seat. It was a day enveloped in comfortable spring weather with mild sunlight, and the reserved seats were not fully occupied; our fellow Caucasian diners who arrived after us had the freedom to choose their seats and most of them were directed to the centre of the premises. Although I managed to request a change from a female staff member and was accommodated in a different seat, observing the same treatment given to an Asian group that arrived later made it clear that his actions were intentional rather than coincidental. This left us with a profound sense of disappointment.More

Very lovely cottage in Arrowtown with beautiful gardens which have cherry blossoms blooming in Spring. All the staff are welcoming and offer exceptional service. Every dish was perfection from the delicious bread with the best truffle butter I've ever tasted to the melt in your...mouth scallop ceviche. The Cedar Wood Mt Cook Salmon was superbly cooked. Each wine was paired well with our meal. Highly recommend a visit to Mora and taking home some bottles of wine from their excellent vineyard.More

We visited Mora Wines on the 7th October 2023 with a group of friends to celebrate a 50th birthday We had amazing service from all staff . We did a wine tasting with Walker and purchased several wines to drink on the day and also...to ship home to Australia. The food was delicious we opted for the chefs selection which included lamb and salmon ,it makes me salivate as I’m writing this review . The service was fantastic . My husband and I returned for lunch on the 13th October 2023 this time we opted for the short beef ribs ,potatoes ,green beans and zucchini .The serves are generous portions. We were served by the lovely Sarah who once again made us feel very welcome We chose our favourite wine Mora -Pinot Gris Bannockburn easy drinking ,then did another tasting with Vicky before purchasing several wines to ship home. This is definitely my favourite place to eat on the South Island and we did travel around several areas . Highly recommend Mora wines as your go to place ,great for a large group or a romantic lunch for two -arrived home on the 14th October back to Sydney and Miss Mora already Can’t wait to go back .
