Awesome restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. The Duck was to die for! Our waitress deserves special mention. Very cheerful!

Food was great, Service was good, we had a trainee server so service wasn't perfect but he did well for being new at it. Being in the service industry myself, just some very small things I noticed were that water wasn't bought to the table...when we were seated, after we had ordered other drinks and had them delivered, still no water so I did have to ask. When the server set for our entrée he stood on my left and leaned across the table to set cutlery on my right (rather than walking around to my right - This was the trainee so he may not have learnt the setting etiquette yet). After we finished mains, a server came to ask if we want more drinks but we weren't offered a desert menu, so again I did have to ask. However everything else was great, we were seated immediately, the maître d knew exactly where my booking was sat without checking the computer, the server gave the perfect amount of time for looking over the menus, the plates were taken away very quickly after finishing our meals, the distancing between the tables was good as well, not to cramped but didn't look empty/spacious and the food was great.More

Three of us enjoyed having dinner here recently on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy but not noisy, the service from the young waitress was friendly and efficient. The surroundings were clean and the ambience pleasant. Our meals (2 x Blue Cod, 1 x...Venison) were excellent, well portioned and tasty. We all thought our meals and the wine we had was fair value. Sadly there were no Bluff Oysters on the menu.More

Visiting Invercargill, my brother and his wife wanted to take myself and elderly mother out. The meal was pleasant. We had a trainee server which was fine. However, the most disappointing part of the evening was when the trainee, unfortunately, lost a glass of beer...off the serving tray onto our table. No one at the table was spared and I wore a large portion on my clothes and meal. We did not complain and quickly tried to assist the young staff member to tidy up. My brother paid for the meal and I must admit that I was very disappointed that no staff member, at any time apologised for the incident or even mentioned it! My brother would not have expected anything BUT an acknowledgment of the situation would have been appreciated. It is a shame that only those that complain and create a scene get an apology. As a regular to the hotel my brother was mortified and embarrassed, I felt for him. Poor form Saucy Chef senior staff!More

Hello Kathy, I am sorry to hear that a drink was accidentally spilt by our trainee waiter, I was unaware that any was spilt in the food otherwise I certainly would have replaced that for you. I would like to sincerely apologise for the accident....More
