Every seat filled by 9am on a Sunday. Eggs bene cooked perfectly. Coffee - smooth and strong. Staff are very friendly, smiling and chatty. Lots of food envy watching other dishes go past. Yummo!

Batch is hipster paradise: good coffee, gluten-free options abound, kombucha, flowers on the food in the display, burgers served in attractive earthenware with no chips (excellent decision). The service is cheerful and the food lives up to expectations. The delicious chowder is full of recognisable...More

Enjoyed our breakfast. I found it rather noisy . Drinks served quickly. Rather cold when we were there.

Sunday brunch and the place never stops filling up with people. Very popular and for good reason. Everything about it is great. Great food and great, great service. The blueprint for how a cafe should be run.

Description
Cafe & restaurant offering fresh local cuisine masterminded by our team choose from the brunch menu served from 7:30am until 11:15am or feast on delectable delights from our lunch menu from 11:30am 'til 2:30pm. Need something on the run? Call ahead to order and grab a bite to eat from our cabinet - EVERY item is packed full of locally sourced goodness, made fresh for you each and every day. Our Hummingbird Coffee blend has quite a backstory: About Re:start: Hummingbird Coffee was invited to join the initial reopening of the Christchurch CBD. They designed and constructed a fully operating café out of three 40 foot extra high shipping containers. Along with this, they designed and developed Re:start the blend; a extremely complex composition of nine different single origins, all roasted by hand separately before blending. It’s this approach of single small ‘batch’ roasting that offers the opportunity to have the same coffee in the blend roasted both medium and a wee bit darker.
