We went to the restaurant as it caught us on the way to our hotel in Invercargill, and although it doesn't seem like it on the outside, the restaurant is nice and comfortable.
We ordered a couple of meat dishes, entrecot and lamb, and both were very delicious and with tasty accompaniments. We can't talk about desserts, since we were hungry to try them.
The price is an expensive pelin, but the service is super nice. We would repeat without hesitation.

A plain simple looking Cafe/bar/restaurant from the outside. Great surprise to find a cosy appealing cafe culture inside. The staff had a genuine interest in looking after everyone, fantastic meals from a menu with a wide range of options. Southern hospitality at it’s absolute best

We took my elderly (92) grandmother here for lunch and we were very impressed with the kind,courteous and no fuss attitude of the wait staff.
Nothing was too much trouble and they were very welcoming and made us all feel quite comfortable.
Meals were delicious and as per usual very filling
Thanks for another great experience

My partner and I came here for lunch on Sunday. Arrived approx 1:30 so post lunch rush. Or so we thought. 1 hour later we’re still waiting for the food we ordered which required minimal cooking. Raw oysters, chips and a rare steak sandwich. No update on how long the food will be and no warning that the wait could be this long. Extremely disappointing.

There are no excuses for the time you came in. I thought we had good staff. I can't actually see who was working then, now. WE have after a 12 month recent struggle finally got a great team working at Ziff's.

I've been to this place a few times now and one memorable experience is the oyster soup when the Bluffies are in. They make a great chowder and it's at its best when the Bluff Oysters are in season. Just perfect with a little glass (perhaps big) of sauvignon blanc to add to the liquid.

This place has the worse service I have seen in a long time. The hostess was rude and told us to take a seat and wait. There was also a group of ten told the same. We were so discusted we all left. Thats hundreds of dollars lost revenue

Good day Curious... I can only sincerely apologise for the way you were handled by our staff. We have had a trying last 18 months at Ziff's. It's been extremely difficult finding great reliable staff kitchen and restaurant.
This is so unfortunate as we are actually getting things sorted. Once again massive apologies and hopefully if you're ever down this way, please giver us another try.

Late lunch on a gorgeous sunny Sunday with hubby. I ordered the chicken burger and my husband the chicken pasta. Both enjoyed the food, nice flavors and well presented. Service was a little slow but fortunately we weren't in a hurry... I did think $10 for a Somesby cider was a little steep.

Met up with family in Invercargill and we all went here for dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and Im sorry I cant remember her name. Food was good and atmosphere was nice too. Plenty of parking as you can also use the carpark over the road at the school (afterhours of course). Pricing is mid range, but we really enjoyed our night out.

Ate here last time I was in Invercargill and enjoyed the pie but this time it was a hot night so opted for a salad. Loved the chicken salad, it wasn't just lettuce so much stuff in it.
Stopped here on a Wednesday night and it was booked out we had to eat in the bar but that was all good.
Good menu with loads of options.
Lots off street parking outside.

Friendly obliging staff. We were greeted by a smiling and friendly staff member as soon as we entered and invited to take a table. the Made us feel welcome. Atmosphere was relaxed and easy going.

Disappointed. Have been going to Ziffs for many years and it has always been a favourite. Recommend to anyone. But. The new menu is small and the food was average. What i would expect from an average pub meal. And not cheap either. Pity as it is a great atmosphere.

Good day Kevin, we are definitely getting our act together. We've had a struggle getting reliable and qualified cooking staff for the last 12 months. We finally have a great team and what we're doing is good. We intend to add to the menu as time progresses. We are currently settling the current Chef's in and we want to ensure everything we do is up to scratch...

Service was fantastic, they could not do enough for us and the children. Food was very good and there was good portion sizes. It is a nice café plenty of shade when it's hot and also shelter if cold.

Sadly very average. Chowder was slightly warmer than lukewarm, and chicken salad was dry, only got half an egg, no croutons and toast, not sure why with a salad. Boring and uninspired for the price. There are certainly better out there.
