Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Yeah! Nine older women visited The Club on12th January 2024 and at last The Club has improved their standard of food.Beautiful food, and for retired folk, the smaller plate, and dessert plate is a brilliant idea, and all for $16. We hope within a short...time just by word of mouth, the restaurant will become the "Must Go To" place to eat in Invercargill. Congratulations for turning it around. 😋More

Went and ordered the 3 course meal for $20. The girl that took our order was chewing gum which looks very unprofessional and not interested. The soup looked like dishwater, with a few vegetables and very tasteless, also lukewarm. Others we spoke too said the...same comment about the soup Our main course was acceptable, but too many chips . The dessert was very nice. The manager of the restaurant needs to address her staff about chewing gum, it’s not acceptable. Also soup needs to be tasty and hot.More

The managers of the organisation I volunteer for allocate organised a Christmas dinner for its' volunteers. I am surprised that $20 per head can buy much these days let alone a three course meal and a beverage. The food was dismal. The kid sized meals...consisted of deep fried and boiled processed food. The date pudding measured 2cm by 3cm and the soup looked like dirty dish water. It was the most depressing meal I had in my life. I think that the Working Men's club needs to get rid of the $20 menu because it is unrealistic to be expected to serve something that is acceptable for $20.More

I am a fan of Working Men's Clubs so was disappointed on my visit to the Invercargill club. It was just so crowded and noisy because of so many people all trying to talk at once. It is obviously popular with its buffet meal for...$28/per person including dessert. The meal was standard pub food and you could go back for seconds. The food kept running out. They did have plenty of food but the bowls, particularly of dessert were emptied very quickly. People were taking huge portions despite a notice saying to take only what you will eat. I wouldn't go back on a Saturday night given the choice, but certainly on a quieter night.More

We went Sunday at 5.30 pm and found they had a buffet on, at $28 a head for adults which is a good price. Food was very nice with a choice of 2 carved hot meats, beef and ham. Drinks were also an excellent price...and staff were very friendly and helpful. There was also a great selection of deserts. We enjoyed it so much that we went there for lunch the next day, which was just as good.More

We just came for dinner and were very happy with our meal. Heaps of variety, salads, roast Vegas and tender roast pork and beef and ham. Deserts were also plentiful and varied, cheesecake, trifle, sticky date pudding, ice creams and more. The price was reasonable also.

Nice flat parking with shelter from those cold gusty southerlies. The odd vehicle going passed at night is not a problem however fire and ambulance is a little more. Great staff and meals are cheap.

I travel frequently and this is a firm favourite of mine, as I enjoy going there on a Sunday evening and having a smorgasbord dinner for only $28.00 Two hot meats, roast and other nicely cooked veggies. Salads, and relishes etc. The icing on the...cake is the very nice, tempting and mouth watering delicious desserts. You can help yourself to tea or coffee. Other nights they have some special menus. Friendly staff, clean toilets, and if your a member of another club you can partake in the activities on the other side. Great bands, with dancing etc.More
