Hot. Cakes are delish.

2 hot cakes, bacon and banana with maple syrup $9.90 and I’m so full. One of us had bacon Buttie and it was stuffed with bacon $8, little extra if you want brown bread). Another of us had the bun with bacon and egg. Americans coffee is $4. Good prices. Good food. Great service. Menu online and weekday lunch specials on the board.

Straightforward diner food

Quite possibly the best fry-up/cooked breakfasts in the city - the food isn't drizzled in anything, nor inventively garnished or dredged through something; and is likely better for it. It is, however, fresh because of the volumes they do, and fast and honest in a simple diner setting. Also not a good place for anyone vegetarian.

Best ever bacon sandwich

Always pop in here when in Dunedin. In fact, it's my first stop. I'm never disappointed . You have not lived until you taste the bacon butty here.

Mustard and onions on a bacon sandwich should not be a standard.

I'm a bacon conisour. The bacon was pretty good. Never in my life has anyone put onions and mustard on a sandwich as standard. This is ridiculous. The bread is cheap but overall the sandwich was enjoyable without the stupid standard additions. Coffee was also decent. To make a better bacon sandwich in my expert opinion upgrade the bread and never put mustard and onions on the sandwich. Bacon, hashbrown and HP sauce was my choice in the end.

Disappointing

Had the ‘special’ meatball sub. No where near a sub. It was a small hotdog bun with 4 small meatballs. They were tasty but i feel extremely ripped off that it cost me $9.50

Bad Service, Bad Food

Just terrible service, ordered two bacon butties, came out on one plate. The place had flys flying around, it was dirty, and the food tasted bad. will not be going back.

An Experience to cherish

Great parking, it starts with that. I found dedicated parking spaces next to the restaurant and have never had to look for one or worry about the time. Great food, great people and ample of options available to choose from. Highly recommended for the residents or if you're flying by Dunedin. Not to be missed!

A Great Lunchtime snack

If you happen to be in the harbour side area at lunch time, this is a good place to grab a filling bite. A bacon buttie, with chips/coffee is great value and will keep you sustained all afternoon.

Breakfast Run

Came by for breakfast. It located just behind the Railway station, just cross the footbridge over the tracks and you should see it to your left. The menu is fairly large with options for a buttie (sliced white bread), hotdog or burger. They also have other items as well like chips and sausages. There is a specials board as you come in so you can easily see what's on offer for the day. We ordered and paid at the counter and sat at a table. Think they had 2 bacon butties for $10. The dining area around the back is quite nice and the service is really good. Friendly and helpful staff. Buttie was nice as was the hot chocolate. Quite filling too. Good place for a fairly quick breakfast.

Best Buttie in NZ

Have visited on three occasions. The staff are so lovely, never wrote a review for anywhere before but felt like they needed appreciated. Great food, great place.

It's a diner - and it is very blokey.

I have been looking forward to this for ages and ages and ages. Went for breakfast with the other half. I had the bacon and eggs which is 2 eggs (they didn't ask how I wanted them);1 canned tomato; some very, very, very thinly sliced bacon (and not much of that) and 2 slices of white (barely buttered) toast. That was $10. You could add 1 hash brown, baked bean or something else for $1.50 each OR mushrooms or a sausage for $2. I had a hash brown which was full of oil when I bit into it. Disappointing - I barely could taste the bacon it was sooooo thin. My other half had a bacon buttie for $6.50 (he could have had 2 for $10 but thought 1 was enough...it wasn't). He got a coffee which was good (large $4.70) and I got a chocolate milk shake with a shot of coffee for $6.50 which was damn good. I just was disappointed. Maybe I built it up in my head. Maybe I should have gotten something else. No complaints about the service. The place is clean but stark. Parking is dodgy. Lots of men in and out. Apart from staff I was the only female which isn't an issue. Yeah maybe I should have gone with something else.

If you like your pork this is the place to visit Great friendly service adds to the wonderful food. Try the burgers and go for the Sunday all day breakfast, you won’t be disappointed

Amazing

They have so many choices to choose from! We chose to have a classic bacon butty they include onion, relish, sauce and bacon in the normal one. I chose my without the onion or relish and added egg to it. It came with a good amount of bacon inside the butty the bacon was cooked to perfection it was very tasty! New favourite place!
