This restaurant is classy, elegant and reminiscent of some of the best Italian trattoria that we have had the pleasure of dining in, in Italy.
From the welcoming, efficient and excellent oversight of the maitre d' mama Meegan to the hard working wait staff and...to the chefs who produced our delicious plates, everything was on point.
Our shared antipasto was generous, fresh and consisted of a variety of flavourful elements including at least three different meat selections. Our pasta mains were perfectly al dente with sauces that complemented the seafood and meat elements beautifully.
A sign of a great meal is being unable to resist a dessert. We both really enjoyed the chocolate cake with blueberries and hot chocolate sauce. We could have had seconds of this but were mindful that we had to climb a hill to get back to our hotel.
It was great to be able to BYO but we were sorely tempted by the interesting looking cocktails being delivered to other tables.Dining in a beautiful heritage building with pleasant background live piano music and top quality food and wine was the highlight of our trip to Dunedin.
We found this restaurant by chance but it is obviously very popular with Dunedin locals with a good mix of age groups. We thoroughly recommend Etrusco for a wonderful dining experience.More
