We'd booked as a group for 8pm, 18 of us, on two large tables at the rear. Only two had starters.
The drinks order was taken with he meal order - and the drinks arrived at the same time as the mains!
My own main was the chicken parmigiana with a choice of fries or baked potato and salad or vegetables. It is so easy to get any breaded food wrong, but this was light, beautifully cooked and a large portion. The baked potato with sour cream was a little on the small side, but perfectly cooked. The side of vegetables were nicely cooked and with a very light tasty dressing. Maybe slighly more tomato and cheese would have been appreciated, but this was nit-picking. Loved it.
My wife has a smaller appetite and was really happy with her corn fritters.
Cider on draught was a bonus and with a glass of Pinot Noir, the bill for two (mains and drink) was $58 - and they were more than happy splitting the bill.
There were no complaints from the rest of our group and we were extremely pleased with the food.

Have eaten here often and have always enjoyed our meals. I had the omeletter souffle and it was massive, surrounding customers commenting on the mound of egg. It was far too much for a serving, and after a few mouthfuls, was too eggie to be enjoyable. My husband had to snitzel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Chips and salad were nice. The staff are friendly and polite. I would return but have a normal omelette as I usually do next time!!!

We visited for lunch as a family, nice place, to make it perfect it would need a little heating at the back if the restaurant. I had a delicious Caesar salad and my husband had a chicken salad - both perfect ! My daughter had her standard toasted sandwich which she rated highly along with a delicious iced chocolate - not too sweet. One if the other children had a bad meal unfortunately- a warm mango smoothie they could not drink and a carbonara pasta that tasted strange and more like soup. Anyway I loved my salad look as so much I would definitely go back!

The omelette was a big pile of over baked eggs with toppings thrown on top and an over cooked cheese base. The edge of the omelette looked like a large intestine and was inedible. Despite leaving it on the plate, the waitress didn't acknowledge there must be an issue so I told her why I had left it. Another waiter then came over and said, "it's because it's baked". I told him it was inedible and he just said 'sorry'. Definitely won't be going back there and definitely don't recommend.

sorry our Souffle omelette did not meet your expectation. We do get many praises for our souffle omelette and often one of the highlights for our regulars. we will take your feedback on board , we would love to give you a complimentary meal or we are happy to give you a refund .we hope to see you again

The hotel l stayed at had closed its restaurant due to Covid and had organised Takeaway delivery by arrangement from Black Dog menu to my Hotel. The baked potato was uncooked, the sauces were fridge solid in plastic containers.
Most unappealing and charged $29!

At first we ordered onion rings and stuffed mushrooms and received the wrong order, for mains we then got the garlic ribeye with vegetables and the veggie burger. The steak was lukewarm and chewy, didn’t look like it had been grilled and tasted of freezer burn. The vegetables were definitely microwaved. Not enough chips for the price we payed too.

We chanced on this while looking for somewhere informal and unfussy for lunch. It turned out to be a really good choice and experience with excellent fish and chips and salad and my colleague loved her Thai Beef salad. We had a window table, which was a refuge from the cold wind outside. We found the service really good and the entire experience to be something we enjoyed and would gladly repeat!

This used to be my favourite place for a good hearty meal, with great service and amazing deserts, now decidedly Meh, service was slow and confused, food was of a lesser quality then previously, and the deserts are a far inferior to what they used to be, their homemade cheesecake used to be amazing, now decidedly tastes like a processed one. Plating is now far below average. Sorry team, you have severely dropped the ball

Calamari rings were out of a box and chewy. Onion rings were good but bigger than the little fish with sweet chilli sauce so you had to fold them up to dip.
Blue cod was in batter and plentiful but the salad was tiny and the fries insipid.
Salmon was nice.
Apple crumble was awful and we couldn’t eat it. Tiramisu was too boozy in some parts - burned mouth it was so strong.
Coffee wasn’t offered.
It was just not great. The decor is tired.

Visited for a late lunch on a Thursday during the school holidays - The staff obviously didn't want to be there, were completely uninterested and not welcoming at all - They were more interested in having a chat amongst themselves and a colleague on their laptop at the bar.
My eggs benedict was unfortunately so oily and greasy that I had to leave most of it. My son's chips were cool so probably not fresh. Coffee and cake were nice.
Would not return - it doesn't take much to be friendly and welcoming to a customer........

I ordered via Uber. I ordered the chicken fill and stuffed chicken. The restaurant called and told me they ran out of fill so I chose the stuffed chicken. The stuffed chicken was phenomenal. On the other hand the chicken ceaser salad was atrocious it was a entire serving size despite being a main. I’m sure they were probably just having a bad day but I won’t be returning for time. Overall I was left feeling a bit disappointed.

6 of us went out for a meal and as usual here, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble and always had a smile. The food was good although we only had one course (no entrees or breads) and none of us even looked at the dessert menu. Just glad this place is still open as we have had some yummy meals here. Thank you.

Not everyone wants a sweet muffin but very little else on offer. I decided on a cheese roll and if it had been that all may have been well. But, it wasn't. If the was any cheese at all in that hot bread it was indiscernible. NOT GOOD!! I know cheese has become expensive so put the price up if you must, but this roll needed to have the advertised ingredient

We stopped here and got coffees for our daughters and I saw their breakfast menu so my husband and I stopped by the next morning. I had the pancakes with fruit compote and whipped cream and a mocha all of which was amazing. My husband had the big breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and corn fritters and he was very pleased. My daughter and I stopped here in June for salads and they were wonderful also. This is a must visit restaurant with great food and drinks and a great relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.
