Really enjoyed a meal at Scotia using the grabone voucher. $98 for $49. Two meals and 2 drinks. Well worth it with us having pork belly for entre and I had duck with a loverly whiskey sauce and my wife had the venison which strangely tasted at times like a McDonald's cheese burger but a lot healthier! Tasted great. Nice... More

Have been thrice now, once with parents, twice with my partner. There is Scots in our family so maybe that is part of my attraction to the St Andrews, the food, the atmosphere etcetera. Not the cheapest in Dunedin. But possibly the best. On this ANZAC occasion found the usual very high standards as before (and my partner who was... More

This was my first visit to Scotia and I was pleased with the overall experience. We started the night off upstairs in the bar and I was suitably impressed by the vast whisky knowledge of the bar man. After a relaxing start, we headed downstairs. The menu is not large but it is well balanced with something to tempt everyone... More

Had the duck breast and it was perfectly cooked. Great old villa that has been turned into a very comfortable restaurant. Arguably a bit over priced but have no complaints with the quality of the food presented. We were there mid week and it was not that busy but should imagine you would need to book ahead for weekends.

My husband and I dined here this evening. We found the food to be very poor and prices to be high, we were charged 14 NZD for bread, the bread was basic, a whole meal loaf and some sliced white loaf (which had been heated when already sliced making the bread start to become almost toast like). I had the... More

The food was delicious and the staff attentive and friendly. The restaurant is elegant and comfortable. There was a good wine list.

We had dinner here and were more than happy with the quality of the food. Tried haggis entrees and the duck before finishing with a dessert combining Drambuie, ice cream and coffee.

Wasn't the most pleasant greeting from front of house and service seemed almost awkward. Scallops had some type of grit in them although the duck was OK. Creme Brûlée was awfully sweet. Was my 'go to' restaurant in Dunedin 3 years ago but would not head back there in a hurry now. Overly priced for what you get.

My wife and I had dinner here recently. The service and ambience were both very good. Overall the food was pretty good although we were hoping for a more Scottish oriented menu. The only Scottish item on the menu was haggis. Prices are a little high but not out of line for the quality.
