Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We meet up with a friend for coffee and cake mid morning. From the outset the service was attentive and genuinely friendly so we knew this will be a good experience.
Sure enough, the coffee and chai were perfectly made, while the raspberry & white chocolate slice was gorgeous and fresh.
The price was reasonable too and the overall quality and feeling of the cafe ensured that it is certainly worthy of a repeat visit or two.

Just poking our heads in the door whilst waiting for the rest of our party, a staff member offered to book a table for us. When we were all there we were greeted and seated at our table immediately and menus were given for us to peruse. The most difficult part of the whole experience was choosing which delicious dishes we would order. I chose the Grilled Haloumi, which was SO YUMMY, I wanted to lick my plate when I finished. I can highly recommend this cafe.

Read a positive review on Buster Green so decided to give it a try. Well worth a visit.
Staff were very attendtive and menu offered a great selection of breakfast and lunch option foods. All were delicious and very filling.
Coffee was great too, the juice was freshly squeezed.
Highly recommend for a breakfast/lunch option.
Try and sit at street level (not downstairs) if possible.

From the moment you walk in it screams vibrancy , health , green and Lucius.
The cakes in the cabinet makes your moth water and then you sit down . Fresh minted water ... menu that makes you want to try it all and salads in the cabinet make you realize this place screams health . Kambuca on tap ... it’s delicious . Smoothie bowls that look so artist you don’t want to eat but you do .
I’d recommend this cafe to anyone . It’s a feast of tranquility and holistic food presented like an art piece .

Always the best you your friends who live in a town take you out to their favourite breaky/brunch spot.
I was impressed, premise was sharp and clean, staff where happy in their work and the coffee was bangin!
The food offering is both menu and under bench cabinet.
I will be back again as the menu has some great quirky healthy options and flavour to boot
A must when you are hungry in Dunedin

The food and coffee here are excellent! The customer service is always wonderful as well, and I always feel very well looked after.
I just have one minor gripe: I’m a bit disappointed they seem to have changed their recipes slightly? The fried chicken eggs benedict used to be my favourite brunch meal in the city, but they now use hard crusty bread instead of their old delicious house-made crumpets, and it makes the (what was already a bit finicky) meal quite hard to eat. The bread also simply isn’t as delicious as the old crumpets which were delicious and fluffy! I was also sad at the lack of pickles in the new recipe as well. It is still delicious and I’d still recommend it, but I was a bit sad to see that my old favourite meal had changed, in my opinion, for the worst.

This cafe opens at 6.30am and is a must if you're after big early breakfast or just after a wake up coffee. Their food is second to none and there must be a chef with wild imagination running the place. Quite a few out of ordinary dishes on the menu, but all tastes are well put together. Bravo.

Very disappointing after trying this place for the second time I was once again disappointed with their smoothie bowl. 5 stars for pretty but unfortunately this falls very short on flavour. The staff should focus less on the look more on how it tastes.
Very icy with no berry flavour. Less ice and more real food ingredients would be great.
Also some of the fruit should be peeled kiwi etc it looks just as pretty. Too messy to eat. Please consider my feedback and sit down and try this dish for yourselfs

Great service and great food, no wonder this place was popular. Wonderful to see so many delicious vegan options on offer too! For lunch we ordered the panna cotta, the friend chicken, halloumi and mash and the lamb shawarma and everyone loved their dishes. Looking forward to hearing back to Dunedin so we can go there again.

If you are tired of the same old fare elsewhere, then come here. Their menu is interesting and the food amazing and generous. We had the Haloumi avo and pea smash and Busters Stack. Their attention to detail with their dishes such as the use of watercress and miners lettuce instead of supermarket packed and undressed salad leaves which you can often get elsewhere, the unique seeded bread etc all made for one of the best brunches we have had. Our experience was further reinforced with great coffee and some of the most friendliest service out. We have visited most of the top ten cafes in Dunedin here on trip advisor and this one outshines all.

I used to rave about this cafe, but IMO has gone downhill since change of ownership. On two occasions I have bought take away salads and they have been pretty average and that is with me being generous. My first was a pasta salad, it was bland and boring, no flavour or texture sensation, which makes a great salad. My last and FINAL salad, i bought yesterday, all it had was oversized cucumber, tomato and roasted pumpkin. You have let yourselfs down, BG.

Found this one of a kind as within walking distance of our accommodation.
Tried it once and repeated because we knew we were on a winner!!
Black coffee so good you need a second.
Every breakfast dish has a subtle hint of chilli (in no way overpowering) and the eggs are enhanced by the delicious hummus or whipped feta or beetroot and greens in a variety of options. Very popular amongst the locals with a regular stream of diners and others dropping in for their takeaway delights.
Whole heartedly recommend and encourage others to indulge 😊

Delicious food, super-friendly service and so quick! Breakfast was delicious (smoothie bowl and avocado smash with salmon) and the portions were very generous. We are downstairs - a very funky underground area. Don’t be put off by the road closure outside - totally worth a couple of minutes walk to dine here.

We came here for breakfast two days in a row because it was so good. They open early, and the staff are so lovely . But best of all is the food - good sized portions, great flavours and ingredients, and fantastic coffee. Highly recommend.
