I visited Glenfalloch on Sunday at 12pm for a family birthday lunch. Service was very attentive, and the staff paid extra attention to my requests for a Coeliac safe gluten free meal. I had the eggs benedict with bacon on a potato rosti. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was obviously homemade and much better than the premade rubbish you get at lots of cafes.
The setting is perfect for a post-meal walk after through the gardens. Very child friendly with a great kid’s menu and lots of colouring in books and toys for kids (plus a trampoline outside on warmer days).
I believe the restaurant could benefit from not separating the menu to lunch and brunch and just having an all-day focused menu with lighter food and more middle priced options. The lunch menu of seafood chowder, steak and lamb tagine are more towards the $40 mark and are quite heavy.
Having a more café/bistro focused menu around the $20-$30 mark would probably better suit the daytime and weekend punters who are generally there for a walk or have biked out and want something less formal. I just feel the lunch menu would work better as a dinner only option. Just my 2cents, but regardless we will be back.

The perfect spot for a relaxed lunch in a stunning iconic venue. Delicious fresh fish cooked to perfection accompanied with a glass of bubbles ,absolutely delightful. Congratulations to all of the staff for providing first class service.Make sure you allow time for a stroll around the gardens ,you just won’t want to leave.

A large group of us were booked for a 1pm lunch. This booking was made several months ago and our set menu options had been pre- ordered to ensure the lunch could be ready very shortly after we arrived. When we arrived, we were informed that another group who had been booked for 11.30am, hadn’t arrived until 12.30pm so therefore our lunch would be late.
The drink orders were very slow to be taken and everyone was getting very hungry.
We were then offered some platters (at a third of normal price) to appease and ‘tide’ us over.
As this issue was definitely not our problem, the least the management could have done was to offer these platters as complimentary.
We had given Glenfalloch months of warning for our function and even made it easier for them by pre-ordering our two courses (not cheap at $50 per person!)
Not a good look Glenfalloch. We won’t be booking here again.

Fantastic venue with great outdoor dining when the weather’s fine. Limited menu, and unfortunately, what we wanted to order wasn’t available. Staff are pleasant, but very disorganised - meals forgotten, coming out at substantially different times. Menu selection and meal presentation a bit amateurish for the price even allowing for current inflationary pressures). Best avoided.

The food was over priced and not good value. I paid $38:00 for a fish lunch. The sole was perfectly cooked. The salad was from a pre bought bag rather than freshly prepared. The onions in the salad were sloppily chopped as was the rest of the green ingredients. The promised lemon was a tiny slice which couldn’t be squeezed over the fish.
The chips were chucked at the plate and not particularly anything.
The hollandaise sauce was spread over the fish in a sloppy mess.
If the meal had cost $ 22:00 I would have accepted that but at $ 38 .. my expectations are of a decent plate up with fresh salad and a lemon quarter to squeeze on my fish.
Service was excellent

We had our wedding at Glenfalloch and couldn't be happier. At every step the staff were so patient and helpful, from designing the event menu with us to helping our celebrant with the rehearsal. It was such a joyful day and we owe so much to the kindness and support of Monica, Dougal and Alex!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented, both on the day and on the other occasions we visited while planning. The non-alcoholic cocktails were a big hit too!
The garden itself was the perfect backdrop for all our photos, even without a pro photographer it was easy to get totally gorgeous (& frameable) pics. The tuis and piwakawakas singing & visiting for the ceremony were so special.
As a gay couple we'd been careful when looking for a venue, but the Glenfalloch staff always made us and all of our guests feel genuinely & completely welcome.
We're so glad that we chose Glenfalloch, and look forward to visiting again for our every anniversary for many years to come.

Such an amazing place to take the whole family, including your doggy!
We let the kids run through the gardens, jump on the trampoline, and play on the climbing dome while we ate our delicious lunch in peace and quiet! They have a kids menu that subbed out deep-fried usuals with filling, healthier options. The service was so friendly and efficient, and the coffee was absolutely perfect! This will be our regular spot to visit.

For second sitting —very good spread of festive dishes marred by lack of fresh replenishments
to some. Eventually rectified to make a quality festive meal enhanced by friendly and attentive staff.

Two visits in 2 weeks, both occasions staff were disorganised. First visit, they forgot to ask for payment. Second visit I waited 35 mins + for a coffee. They were not busy. Staff were grumpy and disrespectful when I asked (politely) why they hadn't checked to see where I was sitting (I sat outside, and I gave them this information when I ordered). Range of afternoon tea products is very limited and I was disappointed at the lack of choice. What was on offer was overpriced (eg. small biscuits for $6.00 each, and nothing special). The gardens are lovely, but I will give the cafe a miss in future.

We had a delicious evening meal in this beautiful setting. The blue cod meal was unique with beautifully balanced flavours. I tried the steak and it was particularly succulent so I am coming back for that next time! A big thumbs up to the lovely attentive staff, I loved the relaxed yet professional service we received and appreciated the chef coming out to chat after the meal. Highly recommend for a beautiful dining experience.

It’s uncommon to find a restaurant that ticks ALL the boxes.
The friendly staff, the great food, the wonderful décor, and the beautiful gardens at Glenfalloch Gardens Cafe & Restaurant gave us such an enjoyable and memorable experience.
We were so impressed after our lunch visit a week earlier we came back again, only to be even more impressed than the last time. These people are getting it so right and that’s exactly what makes this such a great experience. The menu choice is concise but covers the mains, this approach in no doubt contributes to perfecting the dish. Much if not all the greens come directly from garden to plate and the taste is truly amazing. Great experience (see you again next time).

Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. Beautiful setting. Friendly and welcoming staff but overall the experience was somewhat underwhelming in terms of service which was surprising considering it wasn't particularly busy.I ordered a glass of pinot gris and was delivered rose. This was quickly rectified. We were given a menu with no mention of any specials. Nothing really appealed so I ordered soup which was ok. However when we were leaving I noticed a Specials board tucked away in another part if the restaurant which listed 3 dishes one of which pan fried gurnard I would have loved! Why we were not offered these choices is a mystery. Very disappointing

Attended as a group of 4 to celebrate birthday of one of our friends. The gardens are incredible. We had a beautiful lunch, the haloumi was cooked to perfection and the quality and presentation of the food was gorgeous. Really friendly and professional staff as well. Thank you Glenfalloch!!

The only thing that let this place down was that I specifically asked for our coffee to be extra hot but instead we were served coffee that was barely lukewarm. Normally I would have taken it back but they seemed short staffed . It is disappointing when the coffee you ordered was barely warm . A good barista should know the recommendation temperature a flat white should .
