Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Like I have always said , beer is very personal. I had the tasting paddle and of the 6 beers all were very drinkable. The Emerson's band has not let me down yet in NZ. The food was good. We were lucky the place was...not to busy. The staff were friendly and professional. If you like beer pop down to Emerson's. They also have free parking.More

Was great to be able to book - Service was great 1 However, I had the fish and chips and whilst the fish was cooked well and the chips were yum shredded green cabbage is not coleslaw! - very disappointing!

Really informative tour about the history of Emerson’s and how they brew beer. Relaxed chat from Sam all the way, tasting a beer at different stages of the process. Then a large tasting paddle at the end to be enjoyed at our leisure. You really...can’t drive home!More

Good location, easy to walk to from our hotel. The place is new and has a fresh feel. Very extensive range of beers. The food menu is simple and tasty. I enjoyed the Korean chicken burger. Prices are on the middle to high side. Staff...were friendly and the table service quick and easy.More

Emerson’s Brewery has an excellent tour. We had a great tour with Daniel (should out!). The tour concludes with a flight of beer which provides great value for money for the price. Highly recommend!

I wouldn’t rave about this place at all. Food is just mediocre. Sharing plate of prawns was so ‘dowsed’ in sauce that it was hard to even taste the prawns. I had fish & chips- tasteless fish and tasteless dressing. Salad was just finely grated...cabbage with a dressing. Coffee was asked to be extra hot but only lukewarm. Young staff members however were polite and did well at their job. Over rated restaurant.More

Relaxed, informative and just geeky enough to be fun, lots of laughs, a great night at the pub with friends - well that’s how it felt! James was super friendly and professional and obviously the beer was the star of the show. I now feel...I have a better understanding of the whole brewing process and love the story behind the business. I even bought the Tea Towel to remind me! Thoroughly recommend!More

Terrible service, hugely overpriced food - only redeeming feature is the beer. One person serving at the bar despite plenty of others either standing around doing nothing or talking amongst themselves. Food poor and overpriced. Beer is good but doesn’t justify the bad food experience....Won’t be backMore

Unfortunately not the best dining experience .ours took 35 minutes from ordering to table even though it wasn’t busy. Asked two seperate people why we hadn’t received our entree and neither could answer. Obviously ours had been forgotten . Diners seated after us had their...food well before us . Entrees then arrived with mains. The $17 cheese board was laughable and a rip off with three tiny chunks of smoked cheese and wafer crisps. Not sure what’s happened Emerson’s as you used to fab. 2 starters, the pathetic cheese plate, two burgers and five drinks cost $200. Ripped offMore

Service was shocking. Not attentive staff didn’t know how to scope the bar. Wasn’t that busy took half an hour to get a drink and no repeat service to table to ask if we needed anything. Had to go to matrid station to get dessert menu...as no one bothered to ask us if we wanted dessertMore

Overall very good place to dine - Would definitely go back.(wish there was 4.5 out of 5!) The steak meals were well cooked and tasty - large portions. The Mac & Cheese is delicious. Brussel sprouts a little woody but the yams, lovely. All the...staff were attentive - a nice place to dine.More

Yes you can. They have tasting trays with I think 5 different beers. You can see most of the brewery in the restaurant bar.
