WOW! What a local find. Some of the best Indian ever! We have experienced Delhi Belly first hand, in Dehli and not a pleasant story. Do not be put off by the name, as we were initially. This is some of the best Indian you...will have anywhere. For this our first visit, we started with Pani Puri (deep-fried crisp flatbread filled with flavoured water), a must try we had previously experienced as street food popular with students in Mumbai, and from another long time favourite Satya in Auckland. We then moved on to share a starter, Pahadi Chicken Kebab (soft moist chicken cooked in the tandoor with mint and yoghurt), and main, Dum Aloo Kashmiri (potato cooked in a creamy Kashmiri sauce), accompanied with Peshwari Naan (bread with fruits and coconut). Delhi Belly has a thoughtful wine list, with wines that compliment the food. My personal recommendation, Mudhouse Chardonnay. Their restaurant has a warm contemporary atmosphere, relaxing music, and knowledgeable and efficient staff. Delhi Belly has now become a weekly regular we look forward to very much as a mid week treat.More
it has toilet paper on the roof not good hygiene and i was very hungry while waiting for my food so that made me hangry i felt like it was not indian enough when i ordered my drink it was small and i drank it...in 0.00001 seconds by the way…. too much ice not enough drink I went thirsty the whole night Loved this place highly recommendMore

Absolutley delicious food. Authentic indian indian. The chilli garlic momos were delicious. The star of the show was the fish kadhai masala. Cassia would be proud to serve this dish. Great service and staff too. Shame we were just passing through, if we weren't we...would be regulars. And not silly prices either (unlike cassia) Well done guys.More
We chose this restaurant for Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t crowded. The food was delicious. Everything was well prepared. We had spinach with tender chunks of lamb and the cauliflower and potato dish. The portions were generous enough for leftovers. The naan was also good. The...beer and wine list were nice. It was a quiet restaurant where you could have a conversation. We will be back!More
You can smell the delicious flavors from down the street! That’s what attracted us to this restaurant, which was fortunately open despite the public holiday. The food here is 10/10, I love spicy food but struggle to find restaurants that will actually make the food...“spicy”, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the food as advertised! The flavors were so well blended, if I had been staying more than just the one night in Christchurch I would have ordered several meals to-go it was that delicious :) I am not sure when I will get the privelege of returning to New Zealand, but when I do I will go to Christchurch just to eat here again it was that amazing <3More
We had one of the best Indian food meals we’ve had. We had a great experience, the food was excellent, the service great and the location easily accessible. I definitely think you should have a meal there you won’t regret it.
I hadn't had momos in a long while so was pleased to see them on the menu. I should have ordered both varieties but it just means I will have to return. Curries were perfect for the medium we ordered, plentiful and tasty. Drink prices...were excellent, only down would be that in town you have to pay for parking, but it is worth it.More
On a cold and windy night we were looking for some tasty hot food and couldn’t have picked a better spot. Fantastic Indian restaurant in the middle of the city. Service was excellent and the food. Very tasty. We had Aloo Goni and Dal Makhani....Both delicious. Will definitely seek out again the next time we’re in Christchurch.More
Amazing Indian restaurant in the heart of the city, such great flavours! Naan platter is a must! Cheapest indian I've had in ages and doesn't skimp out on flavour or ingredients! Will definitely be going back!
Dined with friends on a Friday night. It was busy with a large group taking up most of the restaurant, however we were very well looked after. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner and the service was excellent. There is a good...variety of food and everything we had was superb. The only downside was being seated next to the door which was constantly opening and closing creating a very cold draught on a very cold Christchurch evening. Will definitely be back though.More
Best indian food I have had in ages. Masala poppadum are to die, plus all our dishes were vegan and amazing. To top things off, I left my scarf at the restaurant and we had walked off for about a block before we realised the...lovely staff member had followed us to return my scarf. Will be back!More

A very small place. Advance booking is recommended, if going in a group. A couple can be accommodated easily. On a sunny day couples/ small families can sit outside. Food is good, close to Delhi food.
