Food is delicious and the drinks are even better! I chose this place for a birthday celebration and although I read the reviews about noise etc I took a leap and booked for a party of 15 (including kids). This place was just perfect for...a spring evening, our waiter was polite and helpful. We ordered a range of meals, from seafood platter to mains and pizzas which are $15 on Sunday, our meals arrived in a timely manner & there was no complaints about the delicious taste. Personally the cocktails are a must try, if only I was brave enough I would’ve had the full selection. Will certainly visit again in the future.More

Amazing experience! Ordered a pornstar martini, fish tacos, and the calamari. Drink was amazing, fish tacos were great, and the calamari was the best I’ve ever had! Service was super lovely aswell!

Just read a previous review I could have cut and pasted. Food was good quality pub food, serving of the meals well timed, waitress was polite. HOWEVER it was so noisy and crowded our group of seven could hardly hear a word, even when shouting...to person next to each other. Impossible to hold a conversation, and so uncomfortably loud that half of the group ate their meals outside in the 3deg cold. So unpleasantly crowded that one bar patron practically had her butt brushing my shoulder, and even casually placed her drink on our table. Bar staff did not act when feedback was given, just a 'sorry, nothing we can do'. Could atleast have roped off the eating area, surely!! Such a disappointment, this ruined our night out.More

Seafood chowder luke warm with an unpleasant skin on it. Soggy pork belly. We shall not be going there again which is sad as we used to enjoy The Dux before the earthquake. Before I posted this I emailed them my comments, I had no...reply. Perhaps they just just don’t care?More

Bar staff are helpful - although you have to shout at them. We have eaten here a couple of times thinking that the first time must have just been an unfortunate experience. It wasn't. The food is fine - it is predictable pub food ;...not bad pizza, burgers, fish. Plenty of chips. Just be prepared to go deaf. Easily the noisiest place in Christchurch that we have eaten at. Staff - being deaf - don't want to turn the volume down when asked politely. Our group had our meals and then left for somewhere we could carry on a conversation without shouting like everyone else in the bar was doing.More

This has always been my go to place for a seafood chowder. The first time I ordered a couple of years ago it was amazing. Thick and full of all of the fish that the menu said was in it. The second time was a...thin soup but with all of the fish included. Today was very disappointing. A thick soup but lacking so much of the fish that the menu said was in the chowder. No squid, no smoked fish, no other pieces of other fish. Sadly no staff came to ask us How was your meal. Had they asked I would have told them about being dissapointed. My partners fish and chip meal was also over priced. We will not be dining at this restaurant again.More

This is a regular lunchtime favourite of ours when in the city but today it took nearly 40 minutes to produce a margherita pizza despite the place being almost empty, more staff than customers. Obviously a forgotten order as it arrived 5 minutes after our...inquiry. No apologies from the very sheepish waitress! Will stay in the centre in future and save the hassle of moving the car/finding a park. Usually a great place for lunch!More

My partner and I have been wanting to try this place out for a while! Birthday night seems like a good excuse! Made a reservation for 7:30 . When we arrived we weren’t acknowledged by any staff and stood by the counter for 15 minutes...before choosing to walk away . Pretty guttered as I missed out on a nice birthday dinnerMore
