Me and my partner just got back from visiting the west coast, so naturally neither of us could be bothered to cook, and a good Chinese place was on our minds so we tried eating here. He got sweet and sour pork on rice and...I got some chicken and mushrooms on rice. We both loved our meals. Fairly priced, a nice place to sit in, they definitely did us a favour cooking for us. Food was delicious, Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you want a real taste of Chinese food. My friend first taste of sichuan chilli fish, she loved it. I lived in chengdu,.... Really love the food. Vegetables could have more garlic,...but its all good and I love tsing Tao,.... As NZ craft beer is seldom good. On a street full of restaurants we randomly chose Benson Chinese Restaurant to have a catch-up over our meal. The setting was very basic - formica topped tables and standard style seating with tables in various configurations to allow for couples, groups, etc. The service...was very quick and the meals we chose were simply presented but very generous portions. If you aren't looking for 'special' but just need a filling bite to eat, then there is nothing wrong with choosing this restaurant.More

I have never liked green beans until I ordered them here! Delicious! The restaurant was a bit cramped as tables are very close but thats obviously testament to the food

Gorgeous food. Friendly quick service, beware portions are hug, big soggy bags for us which was till fab for lunch the next day
