We had a lovely coffee, fluffy and scone in their dining room. The coffee was perfect and the scone was actually amazing. The service was really friendly and professional. So welcoming and enjoyable that we will return for sure.

We recently celebrated our daughter's 21st here, and Amanda couldn't have been more accommodating, after our booking with another place had fallen through. Nothing was too much trouble and the set menu for lunch was superb and really good value for money. Wonderful service, a...lovely atmosphere, and a fantastic location - it all added up to the perfect celebration! Would thoroughly recommend.More

Came for lunch with friends and while I did make a booking for an inside table, it was such a nice day so we sat outside, which was no problem. I had the beans, minus the cheese. It was nice. Still would have been great...to have dedicated vegan options on the menu. Very nice setting and we will be going back for a good look around. The outside tables are really nice to sit at.More

I recently celebrated a significant birthday at Riccarton House. We had 60 guests and I went for the grazing table option. The food was beautifully presented and what a plentiful selection! The service was superb and the night was enjoyed by all. I am still...getting comments about how special this place is. Many thanks.More

After ordering coffee and cake we waited for half an hour before enquiring if they had perhaps forgotten our order. We were assured it would be with us in a few minutes...10 more minutes passed and no sign. I went to cancel the order (plane...to catch) when it suddenly appeared. The coffee was ok, as was the slice of chocolate and banana cake. However the banana and chocolate mini loaf (strange having both), was dry and contained neither banana or chocolate. When we queried the flavour it was supposed to be, the passing waiter said "Sorry, you must have lucked out on those ingredients"!!! Since when should luck play a part in getting some chocolate and banana in baking? We also noticed that we were not the only customers struggling to get their orders.More

Hi Elizabeth, I remember you coming in on Sunday and I am very sorry that you did not receive the level of service that we normally aim to give. Sunday was an extremely busy day for the cafe being a beautifully sunny and being Fathers'...More

We had booked & were seated in a lovely sunny spot most others were dining outdoors, we were happy inside with relaxing background music. We ordered the Pork Belly & Beef cheeks. Plating up was beautiful & flavours were amazing. Service was great. We decided...not to have dessert but will return for coffee & cake as seemed a nice selection.More

Local at Riccarton House is a cafe in a historic restored house right on the river - you can eat indoors or under an umbrella Sunday to Friday. I also recently had a birthday lunch with elderly relatives and the meals were good value, as...was the wine. For a coffee and cake, it is an easy drop in cafe as parking is nearby. You can watch the people and ducks go by!More

After our walk in the nearby bush, it was good to relax with a well-brewed cup of coffee and a tasty scone. Staff were most helpful and the setting sublime on a summer day. The cabinet food was limited in choice, but nicely presented, obviously...baked on-site.More

11 of us had morning tea here. It was very pleasant but had very little choice of food. The setting is superb though and one can have your dog with you if you sit outside.

Went here for a group function, for lunch. The venue is fantastic, a well maintained historic building. The meal was excellent, lots of choice, well presented and very enjoyable.
