Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Garden Court Brasserie is highly rated on Tripadvisor. We expected a secluded French brasserie but it was in fact the restaurant within the Doubletree hotel. Though surprised, all was good from there on -- the bar selection including many beers on tap, the food,...and the service.More

The atmosphere of the place is nice and service is professional but the food and services time left us with a deceiving sense experience. As an entree we ordered.duck liver parfait , one of the hardest I had eaten with very strong flavors, nothing on...the fine side of a parfait. The we ordered grill chicken and roast beef, and we waited very long time. The vegetable was too hard , some barely eatable and the chicken had an old grill taste with again a very heavy sauce. So globally a very average food, leaving food in our plates, missing on the fine side of taste and quality we would expect from this place and price.More

Had breakfast, High Tea and dinner here. All very delicious. Service was excellent and our High tea was beautifully set up. I would say that the morning staff looked very tired, so my only advice would be if you’re tired try and hide it ;),...other than that very very minor detail, we could not fault the food and service.More

This was an amazing experience. The setting is colourful, beautiful and lovingly maintained. The service by our waitress, Kirran, could not be improved upon. Friendly, caring, and very prompt to correct an issue. This was one of the best lunch experiences we have had in...a long time. Thank you.More

Most amazing dinner! (And then we came back for breakfast, which was also amazing!) We sat outside by the rose garden- the kids loved the option to wander around, there were koi fish in a pond and a giant game of chess. They have a...kids menu, and they loved the hot dog (melted with cheese) and the fish sticks and fries. But ours…!!! Divine!!! Mixed seafood and risotto- totally gluten free (and safe for celiacs) and my husband had the lamb shank and gnocchi. This was an unforgettable meal- and we are already craving it again!!! The buffet breakfast was delicious- and again, so many gluten free options (including gf bread and a separate toaster!) Absolutely beautiful setting, lovely staff, knowledgeable for allergies/celiac, and delicious food. 10/10 recommend!More

The breakfast buffet is very good. Lots of hot and cold choices and they will poach eggs or make an omelette for you. Lox on a buffet always gets an extra star from me! Dinner was ok. First night we had a couple apps: the...chicken satay was very good, the salt and pepper squid over salad was food service rings with no flavor, no salt and no pepper, but the salad was good, and we also had the potato wedges. Next night we had entrees, including the monk fish (good) and the roast beef (was too dry). Service is friendly and tries hard.More

Great setting and really enjoyed being outside at one of the many tables. Our drinks came reasonably promptly but we waited an hour for our food. The food was good when it did come

Lovely friendly staff and good menu. I ordered two starters instead of starters and main. Both came out together to the table which meant one had to go cold. The same thing happened to the table next to me. Odd. The food itself was good.

Was not my 1st time visiting the restaurant and nothing came short of this second visit. Had the Canterbury Lamb rack which was spectacular! No form of gamey smell which you might expect from lamb. It was succulent and tender which you probably may not...describe lamb. I ended my meal with a perfect Lemon tart and lemon sorbet by the side. But nothing was more spectacular than the personalized service from Eleanor. Not only was she so patient with her guests as the restaurant was rather pack this particular night. She made sure you did have a great evening. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant with their exceptional staff that made this experience so wonderful!More

Another lovely dinner. We were here at level 2. They followed the rules diligently. There was a good choice on the menu. My wife had Angus steak cooked perfectly with a fabulous blue cheese and apple butter. Thank you for the good service and beautiful...food.More

I usually am not one for Hotel restaurants and this is really the typical slightly sterile breakfast buffet turned dinner restaurant type place. The otherwise lovely bar next to it ("The Den" I believe it's called) was closed so I decided to check out the...main restaurant. Strangely, all the Indian staff have gone and left are a bunch of mostly older ladies who couldn't be sweeter and were obviously grateful for being able to be back at work again. The menu was actually surprisingly diverse for such a place and reasonably priced given the portions where of US-style massiveness. I had the burger on the first night which was great value and a huge portion- and no kidding, they do the best hot chips in town, soooo yummie! Next night I had the pate which was great and again HUGE, would have easily worked as a starter shared by two or even more people.More

Dinner was actually pretty good! Starter was fine (but huge), and venison excellent. Service variable- one waitress excellent, one ‘brusk’. Breakfast was ok for a buffet.
