Sitting on the deck in the sun we both chose the beef cheek hash. Baked crisp on the outside and melt in the mouth on the inside, it was an inspired choice. Great cakes and coffee. Suggest sun umbrellas for the outdoor tables.

Hi Aussiepiper, thanks for your review. We would have a bunch of complaints if we ever took the beef cheeks off the menu. We have tried many configurations of umbrellas but the easterly wind turns them into weapons. So vitamin D it is.

My husband and I been here for lunch and we both had shakshuka. Food was very tasty, stuff was friendly. It was cozy and welcoming atmosphere and I loved colorful decorative tiled bench side. I would like to come back.

This place is brilliant. I went here with a friend and we shared a lovely fruit muesli which was light and colourful, and also mushrooms with bacon on sourdough. Both were yum and came out fast. I was full all day! Staff are good, too....More

If you want contrived then don’t come here. Food doesn’t always have to be stuffy but it does need to be well thought out, tasty and visually appealing and Hello Sunday is just that. A large communal table sitting in the sun always helps to...More

I love Hello Sunday. A small but diverse menu - which makes decision making so much easier. A great, sunny spot with friendly, genuine service, lots of local knowledge and exceptional coffee. The presentation of the food is fabulous and nothing seems to be too...More

I have dined at Hello Sunday a few times now and each time the food and service has been great. This little joint is super popular amongst Christchurch cafe-goers, so I would recommend booking in advance to avoid the dissapointment of not being able to...More

Great wee 'hip' cafe/restaurant. The food here is AMAZING - unlike anything I've had in a New Zealand cafe before. The menu is quite limited though with only one sweet option and the rest savory.

So wonderful that we tickled your taste buds and set a new AotearoaNZ standard for you. Though we actually have 4 technically sweet dishes on the current menu, not the one as you suggested. Cheers.

Description
Hello Sunday is a delightful cafe set in one of Sydenhams oldest two buildings. It has been lovingly restored by owners Jonathan Spark, Yasmeen Clark and Chris Penny. Drawing from its previous incarnations as an old Post Office then Sunday School to the old wooden church that it sits beside. We are a cafe serving restaurant quality fresh food, we proudly have the Conscious Consumers badge of approval and take real pride in caring for our staff and for our customers. We have 5 seating areas indoor and outdoor all with their own atmosphere. Night dinning is a shared affair with a wonderful Tapas menu, yummy cocktail list and quality wines and Craft beers. Hello Sunday, where you get to feel a little of the old style, relaxed Sunday everyday.
