Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently discovered this place after a Czech friend brought us a particular European pastry from there. Now we go here all the time for a takeaway lunch of meat salad torpedo on Turkish bread, rustic rye (both of these have a super tasty chutney on them that takes it to the next level) and citrus tarts. Their croissants, bacon and egg pie, pizza, quiches and whole carrot cakes are really good too.

Our son took us out to this bakery after we had checked in for our flight from CHC.
So much nicer than sitting moping in an airport cafe.
The Copenhagen Bakery has an amazing range of breads, pastries and savoury snacks.
Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We tried the speciality, award winning fruit pies – just perfect.
In contrast to a previous review, we found the cafe area to be bright and clean and the toilets were perfectly adequate.

Popped in once from a recommendation and can’t stop going back!
Quite possibly the best pies I’ve had (and I’ve had a few). The sandwiches, bagels, rolls, etc are all outstanding because it starts with the bread which is unrivalled.
Todays treat was a ciabatta with bacon and avo - absolutely outstanding! Bread was tasty and light with the filling just complementing the great baking,
My wife can vouch for the cakes as she’s the sweet tooth of the family and is never let down with the selection.

Went there with my friend and our son's. It was busy being the weekend, but did not seem to have a good system how to deal with the customers. Two people were served before me, though I was ahead of them in the line. Part of the problem also was that your cakes section was after the till area. This is rather daft. The other problem is the drinks area is around the corner and seemed as if you would be able to go order just a drink and pay there. but no! you have to requeue again! Surely if some one is just wanting a drink they they should be able to order and pay at this area. As a suggestion - remove the (old) certificates from the wall, and replace with information about what drinks are available to order. My friend was happy with her hot chocolate which she said was hot and tasty. Also my son was happy with his mixed berry smoothie, even though he had ordered tropical.

Was charged $5.80 for a hot chocolate (with 1 marshmallow!) with my own cup - supposedly now classed as extra large when the day before it was $5.30, which is expensive enough! So are they now saying that an extra-large hot chocolate for someone without their own cup will be $6.30?? Absurd! The customer service is frequently left wanting. I'm just not going to bother going there any more. There are plenty of other nice cafes in the area.

reg TA Hot chocolate 5.50
large TA Hot chocolate 5.80
Extra large Hot chocolate $6.30
Own cup fill minus 50 cents on any cup
customer loyalty minus 50c on every cup (stamp loyalty card gives you a free cup up to $5, therefor equate to 50c on each cup for 10 stamps
therefor $1 discount for loyalty and on every coffee
I think the coffee prices are very reasonable.
Sometimes we have new staff serving and if you are unsure about the prices then please enquire while you are at the counter, we would be more than happy to discuss the query.

Came for a treat with the wife who Ike the kids were at school.
I had a latte which was horrific could not drink it. Was so burnt
Wife had a spiced chai with oat milk, this was made with almond milk so we asked for an oat milk one. Was more like a water one
The rhubarb slice was more like a lemon zest slice not even a taste of rhubarb. You could see it though
On a good note the filled rolls were nice

We had been recommended to visit the. Copenhagen Bakery on our trip to Christchurch, and we weren’t disappointed. It was the first time I’ve found somewhere outside of the the UK that makes steak and kidney pies, and it was one of, if not, the best pies I’ve had!

Looking forward to having breakfast here. More than disappointed to find out that despite having their menu up there is no breakfast. They seemed unaware that despite having their menu up that they were doing breakfast at all! They may as well just call themselves a bakery. This is the third bad experience here. Will not be returning.

Hello, just to be clear here, we are a Danish bakery. We produce european style breakfast morning style bakery food, pastries and breads, croissants etc. We do not do kiwi donuts, typical eggs bene, kiwi hash browns and bacon, porridge etc with a chef out back. All our freshly baked products are displayed in the cabinet ready to go or be heated as you wait. Our breakfast menu is as you see it when you come in. Bagels toasted croissants with ham or cheese. Sorry your perception was not as you were anticipating but we are a bakery with a cafe on the side!

I love their choc/caramel tarts, satay chicken savouries and bacon and egg crossiants.
But today I tried an apple turnover for the first time. It was elite! So much apple, the right amount of cream and the pastry was divine. Yum So good. Will have to try something new next time.

Great café for savouries. Our favourites are Butter chicken and Cranberry pies.
Have tried sweet collection but can’t remember the taste but savouries were wonderful.

Have to admit the food looked good. I was staggered to be told that if I had the family pie I initially ordered to be heated that would be an additional $5. I will be selecting somewhere else in the future.

Popped in to get a lovely Savoury and Knot for lunch, which wasn't up to the normal standard, the Savoury was dry like it had been in the warmer too long and I had required the ham and egg knot, I got back to work to find out it was chicken. - Disappointing
