Visited Options on a Saturday lunchtime. A really good menu with some different options (eg Snails). We had the Seafood Chowder which was really good, but the Croquette Monsieur was a bit average. Wine list was very good. Panhead beer was available plus others. Great...service. Free parking at the door. I would recommend hunting out the cafe/restaurant at the back of Northwood & close to Willowbank.More

I booked on line requesting a sunny table for my sisters birthday lunch, confirmation of my booking was prompt. The service and location of our table perfect. The staff wished my sister a happy birthday on arrival and gave her a complimentary glass of bubbles....Food was good and arrived in good time. Wine list had good options. Cleanliness of the public area including bathroom excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurantMore
Great coffee, eats were really good, toasted our scone when asked. Service was excellent and very obliging. Recommend for a morning tea if you are in Northwood.

Coffee to take away. I have had really good coffee here previously worth 4 stars but today it was weak and just luke warm, barely worth 2 stars and it's not cheap. So 3 stars it is, split the difference and I'll go elsewhere for...my next coffee.More
We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting experience and the other couple we took loved it too. Sergio was great and started by asking us what type of wines we liked. He has a real passion for wine which showed as he explained each wine. We...sampled a great mix of international wines which were of a high standard. Serbina served us each delicious small food plates to match some of the wines. She too was passionate and told us exactly what she had prepared and why. We would thoroughly recommend this as it is so different to your normal wine tasting. Excellent, friendly service. We enjoyed every minute of it and will definitely be back.More
Sabina and Sergio could not have done more to make my 65th birthday better. They accommodated every desire I had to celebrate the occasion. From serving drinks to cooking the food, all was done with courtesy and friendliness. My guests all enjoyed the chef's creations...and the personal service we received. I heartily recommend this restaurant for both a function like mine or just dining out.More
We didn’t think that 1pm was too late to call in for lunch and a drink, however the cabinet food was almost gone and the a la carte menu was overpriced. The bacon and egg savoury was served on a large plate and without any...garnish or scrap of salad. Croque Monsieur ( basically a cheese toasted sandwich with salad) was, in our opinion, very overpriced. Coffees were spilled into the saucers and no offer to obtain a serviette to stop it dripping everywhere. Not a great experience which was a shame as The Option was recommended.More
Excellent service and great wine knowledge and recommendations. The beef fillet was great but I think we enjoyed the entre fried chicken and pork belly even more.

Lunch on a Sunday and I had the meat platter. It sure is keto heaven, edge to edge meat, with some pickles and a few toast slices. Most of the meats were good, but the deep fried pork and sausages were not pleasant to eat...by themselves. Service was ok, purple decor was weird.More
The food was average and the wine overpriced for the selection offered. The wine glasses were an old style and needed to be cleaned so they sparkled. Service very average and account was jumbled with nobody sure that they had paid the correct amount. Coffee...was good though.More
Great food coffee and service. Possibly the best Cheese scones in Christchurch with the coffee to match.In season the Bluff Oysters are to die for....done the way you like.Even if they were for morning coffee.lol

I can’t speak highly enough about the wonderful service provided by the owners and staff at The Option. We visited on Valentines Day for the evening couples meal. The tables were laid out beautifully with a red rose, a heart shaped candle with decorative hearts...and chocolates on a white tablecloth...it made the occasion even more special. The owners Sergio and Sabina went out of their way to make sure all of their guests had the very best experience possible and the food was amazing! I would highly recommend The Option as the perfect choice for any occasion :-)More

We were given a voucher for a wine tasting and nibbles and decided to go and use it. Great place and we were greeted at the door by the very friendly owner and his wife. The wine tasting and the passionate information that came with...it was a real treat. Found some wonderful wines we would not normally have tried. The nibble food that was paired with the wines was fantastic, best pork bites I have ever had. We were having such a good time we went on to order dinner. Tried another beautiful wine with our meal. This is not a place you will walk out of hungry. The meal was wonderful. The owners are passionate about what they do and that made it all the more interesting. Already booked in for another dining experience. If you like a nice wine or want to try some tastings this is the place to go.More
