Ate here in March, 2023 and it was exquisite, but this year it was only edible. Salad was fresh and crunchy but risotto reminded me of Chef Boy-ar-Dee, TBH And service was rushed and perfunctory despite having a reservation.

We chose this restaurant to meet with friends and found it to be very friendly, with a good choice of food and drink. We enjoyed the tarakeihi fish and chips which were very tasty. It was busy so we had to leave our table after...2 hours, but they found us seats in the bar. Highly recommended.More

We had an excellent meal. Everything was perfect and the service was the best ever. Wish I knew our persons name but she was charming, helpful and attentive, without being in your face. We took forever making decision's so she had to keep coming back...but she seemed to make this no bother. We were offered a table inside or outside which was nice too. Waits for food was just right. At the end she let us split items on the bill - at all part of the evening she could have not been more helpful. The decor is great - vibrant yet relaxing - nice art, chairs were comfy. My mango and chili margarita hit the spot and the others liked their drinks. The sticky satay cauliflower bites were fantastic - I would come back just to have these - and there were a decent portion too. All loved them. We also all loved the carrots - baby heirloom ones in a delicious sauce - once again - great portion. The lamb and the steak were also popular and we enjoyed the creme brulee dessert - but were too full for more than one dessert between us . Will definitely be back - one advantage of this place is it meets the needs of people like me who prefers beautifully done veges and starters but also has the great meat dishes for the others in the group. Accessibility is good - good location and no steps to get in.More

Raining steadily outside, and was glad the restaurant was warm and cosy. Staff attentive and friendly. Food served in a timely manner.
We had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening. We had called for a drink in the terrace in the afternoon and liked the ambience so returned in the evening. Very nice tempura fish and chips
The servers were very helpful. The food was very good. The salmon with chutney was an interesting dish. Good wine selection.
This was an average experience. The atmosphere is a little stuffy and stuck-up, and lacks general warmth and comfort. I got a gin drink and my partner a spritz, and both were good but not great, prices for drinks were okay. The food prices are...steep and the portions tiny. $19 for a few pieces of bread and some butter. We had the salmon which was good but overpriced. Not a terrible experience by any means, but probably wouldn’t come back here.More

Saw good reviews on trip advisor do just turned up. Good advice from server re selection - we chose 3 small plates and a side - chicken liver parfait was very good and the crackers were great . disappointed that cauliflower satay dish was deep...fried as this wasn’t mentioned in the description. Chicken dish was good and salad was delicious Nobody asked how we were enjoying the meal - this seems standard though in NZ. Overall happy customersMore

Wow,wow, wow! A party of 5 out for a good night and that’s what we got. Great service, an extensive drinks/wine menu, and fantastic food. 2 x venison, tempura fish, salmon and the lamb was the order and it was all fantastic. Staff were the highlight.

Lovely chilled atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. Myself and my dad visited Fiddlesticks on a Sunday evening when many other places were closed for dinner. So happy we booked here though! We shared the nibbles of olives, paprika popcorn etc to start which was...delicious. Both had the very tasty and fresh fish and chips for our mains. A lovely wine list too! Really enjoyed our evening here.More

Brilliant choice we made for our last night of our holiday in Christchurch. We hadn't made a reservation as it was a Wednesday evening so didn't think it would be a problem getting a table @ 7.30/8pm...how wrong were we. However we were asked to...come back in 25 mins and that would give them chance to clear some tables...(so we nipped to Peacocks, near the Art gallery over the road for a glass of fizz, very nice too) Back at Fiddlesticks We started with the satay cauliflower & parfait...absolutely delicious. We then both chose the fillet steak, cooked perfectly & the duck fat potatoes were amazing. Reasonably priced & very friendly staff.More
Thanks for a great review and we're stoked that we could make your last night a memorable one. Will pass your kind comments onto the team Safe travels and hope one day we'll see you again soon.
